Phoenix Suns aren't letting all the talk of a Lakers upset bring them down. "<font color=""Red"">We constantly seem to be in a position where we have to prove ourselves</font>," Phoenix's Steve Nash told the Associated Press after the team's workout on Friday. "<font color=""red"">That's OK. It's a position we don't mind being in</font>." Meanwhile, Suns forward Shawn Marion scoffed at the idea that the Lakers would win their first-round playoff series, which starts Sunday. "<font color=""red"">We know what we're capable of</font>," he told the AP. "<font color=""red"">We have to prove everybody wrong again. It doesn't matter. It's like the same song, same story</font>." Even Suns coach Mike D'Antoni weighed in. "<font color=""red"">People are not going to stop what we do, I do know that</font>," he said. "<font color=""red"">Now, we could stop ourselves. We could have an off game. It's not going to be what they do. It's 'Can we perform at our level?' and I think we can</font>." Bell is hoping to irritate Bryant' in this series, too. "<font color=""red"">Hopefully I can get him engaged again and he wants to score 80 on me</font>," Bell told the AP. "<font color=""red"">If he scores 80, maybe they win, but if he scores 60, maybe we do."</font>

We are the underdogs in this series. Perhaps they are underdogs to win the whole thing but they have nothing to prove by beating us. We have things to prove.
Basically, what Raja Bell is trying to tell us is that, if Kobe scores 60, Lakers lose. If he scores 80, Maybe yes he said maybe the Lakers win.

although i do think the lakers have a chance against the suns, most of the laker fans were saying that we would automatically advance to the second round just because we were facing the suns. realistically, the suns are a very good team. they may not have inside presence, but they do have great shooters and tons of offensive weapons. i think people may be looking in at our win against the suns too much. sure we blew them out, but they were without nash and bell. plus, they really werent even playing for much. from a suns fans point of view, id be pissed too

When you think about it, the Lakers are the only team in the playoffs that doesn't have an above-average point guard. That's going to make a big difference.
