They can finally get started toward their goal of a second NBA title in three years Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. That's exactly 10 months after losing Game 7 of the Finals at San Antonio.

Detroit had a big lead in the third quarter of that game, but came away devastated after missing an opportunity to win back-to-back championships.

"That fueled our fire more than anything," said Chauncey Billups, who might have been a two-time NBA Finals MVP had the Pistons repeated. "That made us come back in training camp in great shape with one goal, and that was to get home-court advantage."

The Pistons won their first eight games and were on course for a while for 70 victories. They finished with a league- and franchise-best 64 wins, the most in the NBA in six years and 10 more victories than they had in either of Larry Brown's two seasons as coach.</div>
