SacRONmento has managed to make the post season 8 consecutive years. First time we were the 8th seed, and faced a dual of John Stockton and Karl Malone, in the Utah Jazz who the prevouse 2 seasons made the NBA Finals looseing to Chicago twice. They blew us out in game 1. But we regrouped and made the series go the distance to all 5 games. Anyway, similiary, now we are the 8th seed once again playing in a series of the best of 7 against Tim Duncan and the World Champions San Antonio Spurs. Hopable we will rebound to atleast make it interesting as we did 8 years ago against Utah. Like Kings commentator Grant Napear said "The Spurs can't play much better, and the Kings probly couldn't play any worse". That's true 122-86; I don't think it will happen that bad again. Although I will admit Tim Duncan only 8 points, dang if I knew that before the game I would have liked our chances. But I still feel this could be a series that goes all 7 games. But I will admit it's almost unrealistic to actually say the Kings will win. But who knows, that's why it's a series. None the less the Kings had "A Movie Like Comeback In The Second Half Of The Season". We remaine the type of franchise big free agents will like to come to. GO KINGS!!!!![IMG]

Yeah, I don't think game one is much to go by. The Spurs bench was on fire in the first half, and put up numbers that most likely will never happen again in the series. But despite that first half, the Kings played even with the Spurs (49-49) in the second half... even though it was mainly reserves on both sides.

I don't know if it will go all the way to seven games, but I'm sure it will be a lot more competetive than Game One.

I agree Salim For 3. Your Dallas Mavericks play the Memphis Grizzlies today. That's my 2nd favorite team. That should be an interesting series. But I think your Mavs will probably win. Dirk Nowitzki on Pau Gasol will be an interesting battle. And that's exactly one of the main reasons Dallas will probably win. How do you guard Dirk. Put a guy like Brad Miller on him, Dirk will run around him. Put a guy like Ron Artest on him and Dirk will shoot the lights out. BigD, has also, like Sacramento, improved defensivly. Good Luck!!![IMG]

Nothing worked for the Kings last night and they definitely weren't ready for the "Playoff Spurs." When a team gets blown out by 30 points, it's a combination of not being prepared and giving up.

The Kings will make adjustments for Game 2, but the key is going to be the point guard matchup. Mike Bibby cannot let Tony Parker have his way with him again. The Kings need to make this an ugly game for them to win. Allowing the Spurs to dictate the tempo of the game for 48 minutes guarantees you will lose.

Adelman needs to bring in Potapenko and the Big Nasty earlier in the game to start knocking guys around and regain control of the paint.

I agree, good post shapecity. You brought up one point I sort of already thought and one that I didn't. Adelman should definately bring Corliss in earlier. This years Kings "O.R.Triple Double Award Winner". But he got that more for leadership rather than playing time. But I agree he's got gas in the tank still and has physicall presence to play, not a key role, but an important one in this series. The part you said Shape, that I really didn't think of, is, if the Kings win it will have to be by way of an ugly win. That's true there is no question who is the better team here. The Spurs by a good bit; and that's putting it mildly. The Kings have to grind this out and work hard threw each of a blood bath win they can get. Because the Spurs will dominate, the Kings have no choice but to take what the Spurs give them, and threw trying to execute evey time possible grinde it out with the Spurs. I really beleive the next game will be more competitive. Although being both a loyal Kings fan, and realistic one I won't predict the outcome. Good luck on your game today Shape. GO KINGS !!!!![IMG]

I'd agree with bringing in Williamson (and I think he is getting the short end of the bench stick these days), but not Potapenko. He hasnt really been around enough to learn any of the offence and get into the way the offense works and its a bit to late in the season to start giving people a chance to show what they can do. Williamson on the other hand has been here for a while, knows the offense and has better interior defensive skills so he would not be a liability if you were to have stuck him in late in the season.

Short rotations is the ONLY area where I continually disagree with Adelman. There is always someone that winds up riding the bench that really needs to be used in short spurts. Williamson is the best example of that right now... How do you have a 6th man of the year from a championship team that was known for its defense sitting on the bench for the entire game? if nothing else send him in there and use up his fouls on Duncan... smack him around some... a few good hard fouls to make him think twice about going inside (not that something like that would really discourage Duncan anyway). But he really should be utilized more.
