http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...4567#post614567 apparently he is asking for way too much
I wouldn't spend more than half the MLE for Marcus Banks. If he wants to get overpaid and play for a losing team then he's not the right fit for the Lakers. The Lakers are one of the few teams he could actually become the everyday starter and the franchise is determined to get back to the championship level. If he's willing to settle for less money, but more wins and more minutes then Banks would be a great fit for this team.
I remember when we traded for him, then the trade was rescinded or something, but atleast we got Mihm.
not good enough a pointguard to be a starter in the NBA. He can run and he can score but he makes some of the worst decisions on the court witht he ball of any point gaurd in the league today. His turnovers will always but right up near his assists. Lakers would be better of sticking with Smush Parker then getting banks
There's where you're wrong. Marcus Banks is in a league of his own compared to Smush for one reason, his speed. Ever since I can remember, the Lakers have been craving a speedy PG to keep up with Tony Parker, Steve Nash, and the other quick guards in the league. Would I spend that much on him? Hell no. But I would rather have him than Smush.
