I finally got to watch some post-game stuff for a Vikings game. I haven't been able to lately because the games have been so ugly that all the post-game stuff was simply too depressing.

I heard something today that shocked the crap out of me. During halftime, after the Vikings went down 17-0 and I feared the worst (that I was going to have a heart attack from the horrible game), Mike Tice actually yelled at his players and got negative, something I am sure he did as a head coach. Throughout the second half he took a negative tone. Now here is the kicker:

This is the first time in two years that he has been negative

Two years??? Wasn't the Cincinatti game bad enough to yell at your players and to kick them into gear? My goodness.

Wasn't the boat scandal enough to yell at the players?

Wasn't 5 interceptions in one game enough to yell at Culpepper?

Tice is a scary guy when mad. I would play hard if he started yelling as well. I hope he learned a lesson today...football players respond to criticism. Stop being a panzy and start being serious and this season just might turn around.

Glad to hear that Tice is finally doing something about his team, he was due. You know, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Vikings turn it around this season. In the North they still have a chance to turn things around and take the division and I think they have the talent to do it. The Vikings have looked pretty decent at times during the season, they just need to be more consistent.

Yeah, i would say the success of vikes in this game is more directly traced to the incompetence of the packers

Whatever... Yeah, the Packers missed two field goals, but a win's a win. The Vikings were a different team in the 2nd half. That certainly has to be credited in part to the coaches.

Packers did get overconfident which I think led to their loss but the Vikings were like a fresh new team the next half.

As everyone is saying, the Packers definitely do deserve their share of the blame, but the Vikings did light it up in the 2nd half.

What changed? Who knows. Maybe the Packers just stopped caring, but I highly doubt that.

Trust me, I have no reason to hope that this will continue into next week against Carolina. In fact, I highly doubt that it will. My guess is that next week we see the old Vikings.

Eh...I don't think so. It was a combination of things, in my opinion:

    1. Missed Tackles
    2. Missed Field Goal that would have put Packers back up by 17 after first Vikings score.
    3. Running on 3rd and 1 before final Field Goal
    4. Injury to Ahman Green means no running game/clock killing for 2nd half

The Packers were out-played and beat themselves with blown coverages and poor tackling. The Packers are NEVER overconfident when they play the Vikings. The records go out the window every time they play...

I'm not to sure. The overconfidence may of lead to the missed tackles and field goals. I saw a lot of smiles and laughing on the sideline in the first half and heading into the locker room. Thats the one thing I noticed and Sherman seemed to switch to the conservative play calling as well in the 2nd half. I think the Packers or at least some of the guys thought they had in it in the bag. Then again who could blame them. GB was on the rise at the time and Minny was a diaster. Either way a loss is a loss for the Packers and a win is a win for the Vikings.

there are 5 packers threads saying the same thing about how bad the packers and who they will pick next year. We should just combine it all in one

After that, let's ban all Panthers fans from the board who continually post about a team who has nothing to do with theirs because they're not in the same division.

I'm sorry, but I'm sick of your "expert opinions" about what's wrong with the Packers when you've seen one game all year.
