<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Udonis Haslem watched Game 2 Monday between the Heat and Bulls from his home in Davie, and he did so with the volume on his television turned down. The reason: He didn't want to listen to broadcasters recall the incident from Saturday night's game that drew a one-game suspension for Haslem. He's already upset enough at Bill Walton for questioning his character during the ESPN broadcast of Game 1. Haslem, who was reached at his home during halftime of Game 2, was suspended without pay for Monday's game after throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of official Joey Crawford. After the incident, which drew a technical foul and an ejection for Haslem, Walton suggested Haslem be suspended for multiple games. ''To be honest, a lot of people have been over the top,'' said Haslem, who never actually mentioned Walton by name. ``Commentators in the last game went over the top saying `mental instability.' ``That's not his call to make. He doesn't know me personally, so he can't call me mentally instable.'' Haslem said he has never even had a ''five-minute conversation'' with Walton, making the reaction all the more upsetting. ''Don't make it worse by commenting on my character,'' Haslem said. ``I'm not that type of person, so don't make me look like that. It upsets me because it goes back to how I was raised, and I wasn't raised like that. ``I made a mistake. Everybody does it.''</div> Source
I'd be psst also if someone that doesn't know me calls me "mentally instable" Bill Walton talks so much garbage its ridicilous. Although what he did was terrible, the bright side is it shows his passion for the game, and how bad he wants to win. Haslem understands what he did was wrong and he even went out of his way to apologize to everyone. Now on what he did, I feel for him, because I know that that is not the type of person he is, its unfortunate because now you got people that don't know him already judging him just because he made one mistake.
Bill Walton is the biggest douchebag in the NBA. What a total moron you don't talk crap about players you don't know. Especially a guy like Haslem when this is his first suspension in 3 years, and is one of the most hard working players in the league.
I think that it comes with the territory and Haslem hasn't realized that yet. Just ask Danny Forston about his rep and current slander lawsuit. Players get insulted but it's smarter for them to ignore the comments. When you awknowledge them it can validate them.
It's just the media talking and that includes Walton....media should be ignored..let them make their judgement calls and whatnot...as players just focus on your game...all your retaliatory talk won't change any of the things he said....btw before i sound like I come off as a Haslem or Heat hater..I am not....I loved Haslem in his first year where he was outhustling people as a bench player....so yeah...just my thought of how he should handle things
