I think it was a charge but sometimes things like that happend. In game one Kobe got smacked in the fact while going to the rim and there was a no-call which some say could have turned the game for the Lakers. It happend to both teams so what can I say.

Thanks bro, I don't get tired of watching it.

What a hustle by Lamar man, he has been AMAZING lately.

And to think, if that ball didn't go in-and-out of the basket on Luke's shot, we would have never seen that dunk.

I guess I should add a disclaimer here: Apparently, I'm out of touch with the NBA playoffs and NBA in general where individual plays are much more important than wins. Everyone should be focusing on the magnitude of the Lakers' win today, it's a helluva step forward for them, and gives them a shot to steal this series. Very good win</div>

There are other forums for that- this is just us basking in the glory that was that dunk. lol.

It was a team effort to get Kobe the posterization on Nash. [IMG]

Schaddy I know you love defense, and so I'm sure you have to be impressed with the Lakers holding Phoenix to just 93 points last night. They held everyone outside of Nash to just 37.7% from the field and have kept the Suns under 20 points in 3 of 8 quarters so far.

Most importantly the Lakers accomplished the split and now own homecourt advantage.

I am impressed with that, Shape, and kudos to the Lakers and PJax for such a strong defensive effort against an explosive team, on the road no less. This sets up a very interesting game three. This is fast becoming the most compelling matchup in the West. [IMG]

And just so everyone knows, I mean no disrespect to Kobe for a great play, it just riles me up to see more attention on a play than on the win.

We all love the win but the dunk kind of represents the victory as it involved three members of the team to make it happen.

Although the dunk was crazy, the thing that I'm most impressed with is how Odom fought for that ball and dished it to Kobe. He's hungry and you can see it!

look, that's called taking a charge, not getting dunked on.
Kobe deserved MVP over Nash, but that's called Taking A Charge.
Besides Nash laughed at it cause he's a cool cat. Kobe never laughs at himself that's why he's unpopular.

Getting dunked on must be the worst feeling in the world. Nash will be posterized for life...hahah! That was "NOT" a charge by the way the ref ruled that Kobe when he jumped happened before Nash was in position. You got give the edget to the offensive player besides in Game 1. Nash took a charge inside the restricted and they called it a charge not a blocked which should of been.

Lol, people are robbing Kobe of his sick dunk.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Don't rob the man and secondly what about ALL the other no calls in the league?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Darkness:</div><div class="quote_post">if you were going to call kobes dunk a charge then you better go back in time and correct ALLLL the other offensive fouls that the refs missed.</div>

There aren't threads everywhere with videos of all the offensive fouls that the refs missed. I was just commenting on that. I don't think any of us were robbing Kobe's great play, it's just some of you guys are taking it way out of control, especially when there was a missed call on the play. It was a sick dunk, just flat out amazing, but I just don't really understand the big deal of saying that Nash got dunked on, because he wasn't trying to block the shot or anything, he did exactly what he was supposed to do they just didn't call it. I consider "getting dunked on" when the guy is going up for the block or at least trying to make a defensive play on it. I don't really consider falling down a defensive play on it.

One of the sweetest charges I've ever seen. I guess being a 2 time MVP isn't as good as being named kobe as far as the refs are concerned.

I didn't take it out of context but he did get dunked on. It doesn't matter if he jumps or not its the fact that Kobe dunked the ball with someone under or infront of him, hence "dunked on".

So do all other shot blockers, people who try to get the charge, etc.

I saw that dunk and what an awesome, I mean just AWESOME blown call. His feat were set before Kobe even started extending his legs. But hey... good game. You win one. Now on to game 3.

So if someone is inside the arc(the charging arc) when someone dunks it, it is considered getting dunked on? I guess my opinion of getting dunked on is different then everyone elses. Oh and yeah you guys are definetely taking it out of context.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Franchise4ever:</div><div class="quote_post">Then whats trying to take the charge?</div>

I consider a defensive move trying to make a play on the ball. Standing still isn't trying to make a play on the ball.

Do all shot blockers and do all people who try to get the charge get dunked on and have a whole thread dedicated to them getting dunked on? No so it's irrevelant.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheBlackMamba:</div><div class="quote_post">Uhm...if you saw the game, Kwame didn't fumble anything...It was a long rebound off a Walton missed shot...</div>

Well, that's an understandable mistake because it happened so often, lol. Kwame plays like there's grease on the ball, I think he single handedly caused about 5 Lakers TOs in that first quarter alone with his butterfingers...

As far as that play, it was a close play and not 'an obvious offensive foul' as the announcers had tried to make you believe. Nash slid in as Kobe was taking off...usually there is a micro second lag time of being set for it to be called offensive...

However, i will say that Kwame play shoud've been a loose ball foul ... but yea, it took karma only 1 game to fix things, lol

yea, that would fall under the category of getting dunked on ...

Actually the rule is you have to set your feet before the person leaves the ground. Kobe was already in the air when Nash came over to draw the charge, so by rule it's actually a block. You aren't allowed to undercut a player.

GatorsownstheSEC, in the words of Bill Walton, "That was the greatest dunk in the history of basketball! Throw it down big man, throw it down! What was Steve Nash thinking on that play, Marv? Kobe is too, good graceful, soaring in the air like a condor."
