<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK -- Shaquille O'Neal of the Miami Heat was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Saturday for publicly criticizing officials after Game 3 of the Chicago Bulls' playoff series. O'Neal had eight points, four rebounds and five fouls in Miami's 109-90 loss to the Bulls on Thursday at the United Center. The Bulls cut the Heat's lead to 2-1 in this first-round series, and have a chance to tie it Sunday afternoon. After getting into early foul trouble, O'Neal spent most of the second quarter on the sideline. The Heat center had only one basket in the first three quarters, and said after the game he was "humiliated." O'Neal said referees target him and he knew he was in trouble when he saw Bob Delaney was working the game. He averaged 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in the first two games of the playoff series.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2006...tory?id=2426994
These refs have been pitiful all season long, and it still pisses me off that Stern and Jackson are protecting them like this. They better address this issue, and the playoff format in the summer.
About the refs in Game 3...I don't even want to talk about that game. But overall this year...I have lost count of how many games the refs have screwed up, I understand they are human but this is a joke. And the worst part is the NBA will punish you just for telling the people how you feel about it.
^^I totally agree with you. David Stern and Stu Jackson have really given the referees to much power. I think the players association needs to force this issue becuase I think it is getting out of control. Guys like Joey Crawford and Bob Delaney have killed Miami so far. Also, I think Stu Jackson's feud with Shaq is very strong because Miami is hardly getting any calls these days. There is more there than most people think.
Any word on if the NBA will suspend Kwame Brown???? THe NBa loves suspending and fining people then last night Kwame purposely shoves a guy down then stands over him......how come know one has said anything about punishing him??

ESPN said to expect Kwame to receive a suspension during their broadcast. Initially it looked bad, but I don't think Kwame's elbow hit Diaw in the head at any time. The two officials I hate the most are Joey Crawford and Steve Javie. They don't give you a chance to state your case and have quick whistles. A few years ago they used to announce which officiating crew was going to call a game. A lot of people were betting against teams based on the officiating crew, because there was a pattern of biased officiating. The NBA changed their policy, and now they don't reveal the officials for the game until the day of.
I agree with Shape, Crawford is TERRIBLE. We need more Cick Pavetta's in the league. I like him out of all the refs. Other than him they all suck.
Javie is truly the worst. I still have the Mo-Pete slapping incident stuck in my mind. He's so damn arrogant.

I used to think that the way that the refs called games was questionable. But I dont blame them anymore because they are told to call games in this way. They just do as they are told. The NBA is a girls game now and these tickey tack fouls are used to lengthen games and boost scores. To fool us into thinking that the game is better than ever. Dont blame the refs they are just the ponds. But in game 3 shaq did give alot of elbows to the face. It may have been intentional or it may because he was played by people alot shorter than him. But an elbow to the face is an elbow to the face. sweetney 6'8 Harington 6'9.
