Yeah everyones talkin abotu his shot that forced it into overtime, causing a win. Can ayone liek find me a clip and post it or somethng please...
This is exactly what we needed Dirk to do in the playoffs. In my opinion, when dirk is hitting shots like these and putting up huge numbers when his team needs him to, the mavs are very, very dangerous
The Grizzlies couldn't stop the pick and roll game Terry and Dirk were running. The Mavericks speed and athleticism is the difference in the series so far. Their speed is allowing them to run down long rebounds, which leads to second chance buckets. The Grizzlies don't have an answer for Dirk Nowitzki and they are taking full advantage of Chucky Atkins lack of defense.
Dirk has not impressed me that much YET because i think he really has Pau's number, he always plays well against Pau's team, I expected him to dominate the Grizzlies. Next round, though will be Sacramento or San Antonio - he needs to play well against the Artests/Bowens of this world to get the next level of respect. The Mavericks are probably wondering when they are going to be taken as a playoff contender. They don't need to win a championship to get respect, but they NEED to win the West.

Greg popvich even said after the game, that his team just couldnt stop Dirk. He said that he wanted to put TIm duncan on him for Size reasons. But theres a problem with that....Dirk has outside the paint game, which czuses all sorts of foul trouble for Timmy. So Greg decided to put the so called "olympian" on Dirk. Ummm one problem though.....Dirk is 7 FEET TALL!! While Bruce Bowen is only 6'8! So when Bruce was on Dirk, who's guarding Josh Howard? Oh yeah...TIM DUNCAN!! haha that's just got Danger written all over it. With all he confusion caused by Dirk, Greg didnt have a clue what to do, causing a succesful victory. I think the real factor if Dallas plays Spurs in the playoffs, would be the PG position. Jason Terry is going to have to step up and play lock down Defense on TOny parker, and not let him light up the score board like Cucky Atkins did the other night. ALso Josh Howard's going to need to stay healthy!! He's a great defender and a good offensive contributer, that Dallas needs to win. Plus now that Ginobili is back, i think if Adrian Griffin cant handle Manu. Avery will easily put Josh Howard on him.
I was more impressed with the hard foul Dirk laid on Gasol than the shot to tie the game. The Avery Johnson influence has taken over this Mavs team. In prior playoffs, Dirk would have given up the basket and been called for a reach in.

I just think he learned one game, the Euro style, then he came to the NBA and had to evolve into the NBA game, which took a few years. Avery has demanded these guys don't play soft and don't settle for jumpers and they are responding. He's changed the Mavs culture and at the same time dirk has evolved his game.
4-0 in the playoffs in this day and age is pretty impressive. Is Harris really back? Howard seems to be running well. Griffin is making plays. Daniels is not the player who got the big contract, and who for about 3 weeks last year (in December) looked great, unstoppable, sure, deft, and sweet. When he arrives back, this will be the best team in the NBA. Throw in Jerry Stackhouse and Eric Dampier and it's a pretty good team. Oh. Dirk Nowitzki is on the team too. It's not the Spur's year and Dallas may want this more than Detroit, but they'll have to win 4 games to beat them. If Terry plays up to his potential and Josh Howard scores 20 Dallas wins.
