<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It's not quite a no-brainer. The kid proved he has a long way to go in the maturity department, but J.R. Smith may very well be worth the risk for the Nets, writes Dave D'Alessandro. He advises the Nets to take a long look at the Clarksburg native and St. Benedict's Prep graduate, noting that Smith was only recently described as "The Next Vince". Maybe some home cookin' and tutelage under "The Current Vince" would help. And there is no doubt the Nets were once interested.</div>

I definately would not be against it. Vince and RJ could be outstanding mentors for JR and show him the work ethic that he needs to become successfull at this level. He could be a great 6th man and could be Vince's heir-apparent.

That's true. Wright is a project, but another one wouldn't be too bad. We've been shopping Planinic all season, and maybe it's time to part ways this offseason. I think Kidd, Vince, and RJ could whip Smith into the right mindset. Getting owned by Vince during practices could maybe humble him just a bit. Him being a Jersey native might also make it easier to work with him. If getting JR means sacrificing our priority to strengthen our front line than i'm against it.

Im thinking the only way the Nets could get there hands on JR is if its an Antoine/JR swap. I dont think New Orleans would mind that but I dont know about Jersey fans. It would be a solid swap either way looking at potential but IMO Antoine will be the better of the two in the long run just cause of his defense.

I've liked what I seen from Antoine. He's definitely a lot more polished and smarter than JR. JR for all the talent seems to have a really low basketball IQ...

It would be great to JR Smith in a Nets jersey.

antoine plays way better D, not a lazy player, listens to the coach.... j.r. smith is just immature right now, antoine is the better player right now, but if the nets takes a risk taking j.r. and j.r. can change his attitude then in the future j.r. will be better, i think its a gamble getting j.r. smith
