Not defending Raja's actions at all, just noting that Kobe isn't always the victim as some would have you beleive

I'm not saying the refs won/loss this game, bu they were extremely inconsistent tonite and that's the reason it got out of hand at the end. And wanna be tough guy Raja Bell needs to stop flopping constantly and faking fouls if he really wants me to believe he's tough</div> You really don't know what defense is. Do you expect to stand still to take a forearm to the chest from a 6"6 230 pound of mostly muscle in Kobe Byrant? Raja took a hit and he fell down. Raja Bell stayed balanced infront of Kobe, and made Kobe go to work if he wanted to score. Raja Bell has done a great job defensively, but in the NBA, the rules favor offense, and Kobe is too good to be on lock down for the rest of the game. I did notice Raja Bell holding Kobe down to 8 minutes, not bad. I don't see why Laker fans should be bitter, Kobe is finally getting some competition, and his average in the playoff is about 22 ppg, his regular season average is 35. Raja Bell has forced Kobe to pass more often, which is benefiting the Lakers, because Lamar Odom has dominated Shawn Marion, and Brown has been productive also. About the hard foul Raja gave, it was overboard, but in the plays with alot of intesity I'm not suprised, I see it all the time in basketball games in the street, and it happend plenty of times in the 90's. Raja Bell brings that old school style to the game, none of that finnese crap this league is loaded with. Raja Bell will get suspend, the foul was overboard, I agree. But I wish I could see Kobe and Bell go at it in, suspending him will only take away flavor from the series. and Raja Bell is one of the toughest guys in the NBA, don't take away his basketball credibility, especially when you lack of one. Raja Bell as a rookie was brought in the defend Ray Allen and Kobe Bryant in the playoffs as a 76er. Dude in Utah held people on lock, with Arroyo at guard. This is why Bell is my favorite non PR players, I love the passion and pride he brings to the game. No one in the NBA has alot of pride in their defense anymore. Raja Bell took his job seriously and gave it a total effort where nothing came easy for Kobe. Kobe had a good game, because he's the best shooting guard in the NBA, not even a good defender will stop him.

Well Raja got suspended for one game. Sounds about right. Probably would have been two games in the regular season but this is the playoffs. Bell: "I got a bruised cheek here and I can barely open my jaw on this side," he said, indicating the left side of his face, "and that didn't come from nowhere, and I felt like I'd had enough of that." "When I get hit in the face multiple times, you've stepped across the line with me," he said. "It's not basketball anymore. It was basketball for four games, then when he hit me in the face, that was the last straw last night. It still doesn't excuse me, but that's just the way I felt about it." -------- Sounds like it wasn't just a phantom elbow that some of you guys make it out to be. Sure he's probably overexaggerating a little but something must have set him off. You don't just do something like that out of the blue. He's not Ron Artest. And I enjoyed this little tidbit from Bryant: "I'm not trying to go out there and elbow somebody, that's not the way I play," Bryant said. "If you get elbowed, you still have to keep your cool. I get elbowed all the time." What about the Miller incident? You guys said you lost respect for Nash but how about Kobe being a hypocrite? Gives you something to think about, doesn't it?

Also those were two different circumstances, Kobe got severly elbowed opening a cut on his eye. I would be steamed about that too, Raja on the other hand is either overexaggerating or lying. I doubt Kobe is just throwing elbows into Raja's face for fun. Nonetheless the Miller incident was delt with properly and Kobe got what he deserved. If your gonna call Kobe a hypocrite then you should also call Nash one as well.

Most of the games are youtube. Him and Kobe are both beating up on one another, the difference is Bell snapped and Kobe didn't. Most Laker fans agreed when Kobe was suspended for elbowing Mike Miller. The 2 games suspension was the right decision. How does it make Kobe a hypocrite? Though it was accidental Kobe didn't know that, and even if he did he deserved the suspension for acting like a kid.
