The thing is if mike sherman gets fired the new coach might bring in a new defensive corridnator. And Bates is the only thing keeping this bad defense playing like a good defense. So i say invest a draft pick on the defense. Mario Williams, Ahmad Brooks, AJ Hawk, or Jimmy Williams would be a great pick for the packers

I doubt the new coach would want him gone. Most likely Bates would be hired as a coach somewhere before he's gone from Green Bay. Hell he could even get the job in Green Bay. Mario Williams would be a bad pick for the Packers as well since we have 2 pretty solid DE's.
