i no martin was a huge factor to our championship runs and all that but i rather not see him in nj. he was one of my favorite players but its over for him. he has 2 bad knees and a huge contract
I'm pretty sure Denver would be able to pull off a trade, but if they do buy him out, he'd ask for more than the MLE. Hopefully he can realize now he's just not the same without Kidd. If we obtain him, and he turns out to be effective, we'll definitely be an elite team.
He might be asking for more than MLE, but he had one horrible injury-riddened season. No one will make the same mistake as Denver and give him more than that...Which team can do that? Atlanta? They don't need him. Charlotte? They have Emeka, Melvin Ely, Sean May. Chicago could use him, but as we seen with Eddy Curry they don't want to spend money on injured players...and besides they're only marginally below the cap so they offer won't be that much bigger than the MLE.... So he doesn't really have much to select from and Kidd could bring him back... HOWEVER, I do not want to do a massive trade for him in which we are paying 15 million for 14/6 and only 50 something games.
