<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Would it make sense for the Sixers to send Iverson and Korver to the Nuggets for Martin and guard Andre Miller - who would obviously be expendable if Iverson came to town? Would Miller - sixth in the league in assists this season and one of the better defensive point guards - distribute the ball to everyone's liking? Would the presence of Martin as a defensive force next to him free up Samuel Dalembert to be all he can be? Would Webber accept a change in his role? It would be a trade fraught with risk. Is it worth doing?</div> http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/spec...ts/14460840.htm
Gahh, thats the kind of trade I really wish that DOESN`T happen. K-Mart that never really wanted to his real potential and a decent point guard in Miller. Lets just explore more options before we decide what to do with AI.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dtpxcore:</div><div class="quote_post">no way that just makes Denver a instant contender and Philly a first pick lottery team.</div> Which might not be too bad with Greg Oden coming soon
um. i dont see why we will do this trade. kenyon is always injured and highly over paid. what the hell. if we make this trade i will not be a sixers fan anymore. ill be a pistons fan
simpily put, this trade doesnt help us in anyway. it doesnt help us in the present, because we are a way better team with AI then with kenyon, and it doesnt help us in the future because of kenyons huge contract. btw, i was just kidding when i said i wouldnt be a sixers fan anymore, and that i would be a pistons fan

What good would Kenyon Martin bring to the Sixers? They aren't a defensive team, and although Martin is much better a defender than Chris Webber, his addition alone won't mean Philly becoming good on defense all of a sudden. Chris Webber is more consistent and even though he's older, is arguably better than Martin. Martin has never shown that he could be the centerpiece of an offense and that would mean Webber, with his wonky knees and declining production, would become the number one scorer?
Well, from AI's point of view, I'm sure he would love that trade as he'd go to a better situation and get to play next to one of his close friends and rising stars in Carmelo Anthony. For the Sixers, there is no chance in hell I'd do this trade. It is almost as bad as the trade we almost ended up doing right before the deadline with the Nuggets. K-Mart is injury prone, and he plays the same position as Webber, meaning one of them would have to come off the bench, and neither of them will want to do that.
i think if some kind of a webber for martin deal would be pretty sweet. webber and salmons for martin and evens? im not sure about the salaries, but i bet they might be able to pull off some sign and trades?then king can surround iverson with more defensive minded players and turn the team around. i really think something like that might benefit both teams too.
^ hahaha. there is no way in hell denver will take a 50 year old chris webber on one leg that has a long contract that pays him like 20 mill a year. also, there is no way they want lazy, no heart, cant play defense, ball hog john salmons anyways, if the nuggets offer camelo for AI, i would do it!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">with his wonky knees and declining production, would become the number one scorer?</div> ROFL, both have that problem(C-Webb and K-Mart). I would pull the trigger. Keep Miller and see what you can trade with Martin, if not Martin then see what you can get from C-Webb.
I think k-mart?s heart will always be in New Jersey so I cant see his career resurrected in another team. And besides for him to be effective he needs someone like Jason Kidd to create plays for him. So just the thought of this trade would clearly hurt the sixer than making them better.
