<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">May 2, 2006 - The LAPD is investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault involving Lakers player Kwame Brown.

According to a police statement, the assault allegedly happened early in the morning on April 29th.

Brown is accused of assaulting a woman in a hotel somewhere in the Los Angeles area. Investigators are not disclosing the name of the hotel, the location or a time of day. The Los Angeles district attorney's office reports that LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division is handling the investigation. That division is appointed whenever a high-profile personality is involved.

Brown is from Charleston, South Carolina. He skipped college to go pro and was a first round draft choice for the Washington Wizards. In the off-season he was traded to the Lakers.

Brown is expected to start in the Lakers game against Phoenix tonight.

    This is bad, really bad.

    I heard it's for rape/sexual assault.

I am expecting Kobe to really step up and show Kwame's he's the leader that he's showing to be. Kobe's been through this before, he can guide Kwame through this.

I'm afraid what this does to the Kwame Brown, though. He's had a troubled past. His father always beat his mother, I think his brother's serving jail time, and Kwame's been slapped with drunk driving charges, twice. Ugh...

I don't believe it, it's too soon for rumors.

In my opinion, Kobe barely made it out of that with his sanity. He's a strong dude, he's not going to show many weaknesses to the crowd. That rape case had a bigger toll on him than most think. He almost lost his fans, his career, his wife, his daughter..he almost saw jail time. If Kobe wasn't as mentally tough as he is, he would've been dead in the water.

Kwame's a different case than Kobe. He's mentally weak. This is going to crush any confidence he had going into game 5 or going to motivate him to KILL the Suns.

RUMOR UPDATE: It's possibly a Suns fan pissed off...[/b]

If you guys don't like the rumors, tell me.

THIS IS A SERIOUS TOPIC, IF I SEE BAITING, ASSAULTING THE LAKERS, LAKER FANS, OR KWAME BROWN, YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY...DON'T POST ANYTHING IN HERE.

EDIT: The news just used the term "rape."

    This is very, very bad.

That's just wierd. On the same team as Kobe. You know people are going to try and make some ridiculous connection.

I'm not ready to condemn him yet, because Mamba's only shown us rumours. But, if this is true, Kwame deserves whatever he gets, regardless of if he is mentally weak. I have no sympathy for any hardship he would have to endure. He would've brought it upon himself.

Does this thread have violate guidelines written on it?

One word posts are not acceptable...C'mon guys, this is a serious matter. I don't want to be seeing, "Sucks", "There goes the series", "Too bad", etc..

Keep it mature, or I'll close this and any other Kwame thread that pops up.

Come on! This cant be true. Kwame? 16 year old? Hard to beleive. I wonder if they are going to bring it up during the game. Thank god it's not Odom. But still, I find it hard to beleive. Under Investigation are the key words.

Thank God it's not Odom? What the hell does that mean? Kwame, arguably, has been more of a factor this series than Odom because of his post presence. That's the reason why we are playing like we are. We can slow the game down, because of him.

I don't want to see that anymore. I don't want to see "Thank God...". Why don't we pray to God that the report isn't true, and it's some gold digger looking for some cash.

Rape is rape, whether it be a 16 year old or a 26 year old. If convicted, Kwame Brown is no higher than the scum that walks this earth such as murderers and terrorists.

Calm down. It's not like I want Kwame to be convicted. You took it out of porportion. And if it werent for odom, Lakers would have been swept.

I just hope they resolve this and he is innocent. I love Kwame and he's too young. Just when I thought he has ressurected himself.

RUMOR UPDATE - Someone on another board said that on the news they reported that Kwame was recently ticketed and arrested for DUI and speeding in his hummer...

I don't believe this rumor. He lives in L.A. He lives in the celebrity capital of the world, this news would've surfaced already.

For those of you that don't know much about Kwame's career and life before the Lakers. In his first two offseason, he was charged with DUI and speeding, twice. During his career in Washington...Kwame was known as a hardcore partier and that he got around...if you catch the flow.
