But, if it'll help the Magic out, then, I guess it'd be best.
What a sad story. He could have been one of the greatest ever... I hate to see careers ended like this, espically when it's a guy like Hill, who could have been, and was for a while, a truly amazing player.
The worst part of this is he is a good guy. Its sad it happens to good people like Hill, I think he will still try one more time... the man is no quitter and he really loves basketball unlike a lot of todays players. Im so glad we have Dwight as our future, the kid has talent and respect for the game. I hope dwight gets a chance to play along dwight, they would be a very good combo with darko, jameer and hedo.

I hope this isn't the end. Grant has made it far by coming back through the numerous surgeries and injuries over the last 6 years, and most players couldn't even do that. I'd like to see him come back, the Magic would still be a good fit for him because they're a team on the rise. I wouldn't mind seeing him going back to Detroit either, having the chance to win a championship while playing a part of the teams sucess. Though that would be a pretty old team, the core would be 30+ in age except for Tayshaun and perhaps Rip (depending on when/if Grant goes to Detroit).
Good, retire Grant, you should have retired a long time ago. Thanks for sucking up 1/3 over our salary cap and solidifying our mediocrity for years. I can't stand that greedy mofo.

I didn't think it was possible to not like Hill.

He has done everything he could have done to make this a better team, it's not his fault that he has had injury's that kept him from playing. Orlando gave him the contract that he was worth any other team in Orlando situation would have done the same thing. I'm sure you weren't saying this last year when the Magic had one of the best records in the league (witch Grant had a big part of) until the stupid GM traded Mobley for 2 headcases (Cristie and his wife)
Well, to be honest, Grant needs to become a coach for them. He has been the leader of the locker room for ever and I don't think it needs to change. He was a tad bit greedy with that contract, because if he would have gotten a 5 million dollar contract they would have been able to sign a few more guys to help this team out. Nevertheless, I say bring him back on as a coach.
Poor Grant. The guy did everything to come back. I don't look at it as him being greedy. I think he was trying to right a wrong. He got hurt, and it cost this franchise a lot. Including their bonafide superstar. I am sure he believed that had he been healthy, T-Mac would still be in Orlando and they wouldn't be going through what they went through. I am sure the money doesn't matter to him. He has enough and his only goal was to come back and try and give back to the team that has stuck with him through all these years. At least he gave it one more run and was an All-Star. That's one good memory he should take with it and whoever said he should join the bench as a coach. That would be a great move.
I really like Grant. He has had a lot of bad luck these last few years. But, I do think it's best for him to retire.

When Grant signed his contract he was a max player, it's not his fault he has been injured. I blame the doctors who did his first few surgeries if they would have done it like they did it this last time his ankle would have only needed 1 surgery and we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
