<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Richard Jefferson is his own toughest critic. Never mind that his 3-pointer with 1:22 remaining in Game 5 put his team up by six, which turned out to be the margin of victory in the Nets' 92-86 win. Jefferson, who was upset he missed a chance to send Game 1 into overtime with a shot at the buzzer, said he was just happy because he "hadn't hit a big shot all series." "I was surprised I made it. ... I was glad I was finally able to stand up and hit one especially from the 3-point line. Our team and myself haven't shot the ball extremely well from 3 (.240 for the series), so to have that as one of the big ones felt good," Jefferson said. But he may never have taken the shot if Nets veteran big man Cliff Robinson hadn't encouraged him.</div> http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?...3090.xml&coll=1
Even though a lot of credit is due to Kidd and Carter for giving him open looks, Jefferson is one of the most efficient players in the league who don't need touches. He always makes the best of his touches, either getting the two points or drawing a foul. We all know his play will be consistent whether the team is struggling or not.
