<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobe4life:</div><div class="quote_post">First off I want to reply some of your comments. I agree with you. But there is a reason why we do that. I think you realize that most of us are pretty sensitive toward any members making comment on Kobe or the Lakers simply because there are a lot of haters around. I'm not saying it's you or some others but I think you do aware that Kobe is the one player in this NBA that people either hate him or love him. So when you make bad comment on Kobe, some of us label you as hater for that exact reason. I still see many people calling Kobe, a ballhogger, not a team players, Kobe is selfish this and that but almost all of them aren't even truth. If you're a Lakers fan and watching the Lakers' for the whole season, you will see why we support Kobe even when he taking ton of shots. As a huge fan of Kobe, that is frustrating to see and some of us just get carry away because of it. The Kames play on Diaw didnt deserve a suspension. Yes he did embarrassed Diaw, but a lot of players did that and just received a T. On the other hand, the retaliation play Bell did to Kobe was an intentional foul trying to hurt Kobe. A 1 game suspension is lucky for him; Kobe got 2 in the regular season with a similar flagrant foul. Nobody saying Kobe is an angel. In fact nobody in the league is. Kobe should be fine for pushing Diaw in that play? No way, he was walking over to make peace but accidentally get carry away and slipped and fell into Diaw. Nobody should get any fine in that play, not Kobe, not Diaw, not Walton, not Thomas, NOBODY! I understand your point, but I can understand why Kobe got frustrated and elbowed Mike on the neck. On the previous play, Mike smack him pretty hard on the forehead I think or mouth without a foul? Though the elbow on Raja Kobe hits him is pretty controversial. Its either Kobe didnt hit him and he flopped, or Kobe did hit him on the side shoulder, but definitely not at the jaw like he claimed. Eitherway, both him and Kobe are wrong. I dont pick side on this play even thought Im a biased Kobes fan. On the other notes, when Kobe complains, he did it on court only. He doesnt go around and whining afterward like Raja and Nash did. Raja and Nash went around and whining how Kobe always get away with the calls but he didnt know how many technical and uncalled Kobe received this season, not to mention Nash is a superstar, he get the same type of calls as Kobe. Please, the media did hate Kobe hella a lot. I think its pretty obviously that Kobe is definitely not the medias favorite because of his attitude or something. I dont understand what wrong with Kobes attitude, but they hate him for that. And of course, the rape charged he got 2 years ago, makes the media hates him even more. Then the Shaq fuel, Jackson, etcpretty much everybody outside of LA hate Kobe. The reason they talk more about Kobe is because Kobe brings more attention to the fans than most other players, maybe exception to Lebron. Whether its a positive or negative, the media likes to talk about him. Sometime they bashing him for his selfishness, sometime they just admired his performance. And if you want to talk about the hype, Lebron is first on the list although I think hes a great player. The history fuel between Raja and Kobe dated back when they both was a rookie trying out for the Lakers. Raja got killed by Kobe in practice, then the Sixers vs Lakers in the NBA Final, and finally the hard foul on Kobe Raja made in this regular season. Kobe will respect his opponent if his opponent plays him clean and work hard. Actually Kobe did, in fact, compliment Raja for playing hard and played tough defense on him. You don't see Kobe and Bruce Bowen go at it, and Bruce's defense pretty much annoyed the heck outta Kobe but Bruce doesn't try to flop as much compare to Raja, and that's when Kobe loses his respect for Raja. I never saw Kobe flopped? Yes, sometimes he did take the charges but everyone did that, and youre right it can't be label as flop because taking charge is a great defensive way to slow down your opponent drives. Though Raja flopped like a mad maniac. He flopped even when Kobe just giving him a slight elbow on his chest. Pub.....leezz, with his strength and size, I don't think he will fall down like that. Though I respect his defense and toughness but taking a flop like that almost every game is unacceptable. Kobe averages 42ppg with Bell guarding him most of the time in the regular season. I don't see a point in saying Kobe can't score over Bell. It's pointless to say Bell's D is a major factor in Kobe's point deficiency. Kobe can put up 50 on Bell any night if he wants to but hes just playing a team game right now, at least so far. You can't put Tmac's season in Orlando in comparison to Kobe's season on the Lakers. The East is pretty weak back then, even now but it improves whole lot. Though I do agree, when MJ averaged 37ppg, he didn't win MVP but at least he was 2nd on the MVP ballot while the Magic man was having an incredible season with the Lakers, no question why MJ shouldve won. Nash's season was good but compare to Kobe, it's nothing. The only thing he has over Kobe is the winning which I don't necessarily agree on. If you put Kobe on the Suns' team, he would actually win more games. Nash is great when you giving shooters around him. Forget about the "he makes other players better". Diaw, Barbosa, Jones, Thomas, they're already talented players, and playing in the right system helps them the most. Anyway, I just find it hard to accept Nash winning 2 MVPs when there are a lot of other players better than him, and only win 1 or none. Unbelievable! I dont hate Nash, actually last year, if there is a person disagreeing on Nash winning the MVP, you can bet that I will be the first person to bash him, but this year? Nah noway. they shouldve given to Kobe or Dirk or Billups. Anyway I agreed, were somewhat a bit arrogant but that come because of some haters still existing. Im sure if other people talk smack about your favorite player or your team, and if youre a big fan, you feel the urgency to protect your teams or player. I know its biased but hey, that what fans are for, you try to protect your team even when you know your argument is stupid. I admitted that I was wrong about bashing the guy (forgot his username lol). I actually got a little frustrated because I read a lot of comments before that about people saying they shouldn't giving the MVP to a rapist, a ballhog, etc...I think Im a very sensitive Lakers' and Kobe's fan, so when these negative comments happen, I find it hard to control myself but to say idiotic, taunting the other members because of their post that I don't agree on. But though, in my very own mind, I swear I have no intention of thinking or saying stupid stuffs like that. I was wrong; I'm apologized to anyone that I bash before. Looking forward for my post to be more mature, and I hope other respect my post as well.</div> Thanks for the apology, same with the other Laker fans in this thread as well. I know everyone is biased at times, I certainly am especially in the heat of the moment like how it is for you guys. I'm just asking to try to do a little research before you post one sided arguments when Kobe (or any other player for that matter) has done the same thing. Just try to see both sides of the story. I just want to have some great debates with you Laker fans, because you can't find anymore passionate fans in the NBA, it just gets hard when you get personally attacked or bashed for having a different opinion, whether I make a point or not. When you are the best, like Kobe is(well at least one of the best) you are going to get your fair share of haters. That's just how it is, but not everyone that disagrees with something about Kobe is a hater. For example, there's parts about Dwight Howard and Corey Brewer that I don't like(my favorite college and NBA player) and I wouldn't get angry at people who actually make good points about either. Nothing pisses me off more than posts that have 0 substance at all, like "Kobe rules, Nash drools, Suns suck"(not actual post, but there's people going around saying similar stuff)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh yeah, well 24 > 23 so there! illmatic has always been an open minded Laker fan. He's taking some unfair criticism IMHO. A lot of fans are just upset about the series so some comments have been out of character and a bit over the top. Take in context, it's a sensitive time for us Laker fans. Just imagine being reminded it's much more "Hip to Clip," every where you go around SoCal.</div> Shape I appreciate the back up man, I've been quadrupled team in this thread and it's really not fair. I came to this forum come share my opinions and thoughts and learn from other Laker fans (and non Laker fans) to increase my knowledge. Obviously I'm a huge Kobe fan and Laker fan, so that's gonna make me more biased. Yeah I've made posts out of character and maybe a little bit immature, but I'm not perfect, I can't always act so polite when I'm responding to someone attacking me or other Laker fans, so I may have a tendency to do something out of character. All I know is I'm excited for Game 7 and I think every Laker fan would appreciate it if you guys would just let us talk amongst ourselves and others without having to back up the Lakers and Kobe every single therad. It gets so old after a while and I think we all get fed up with it.

I don't think there is any denying that this has been the best series BY FAR in the 1st round. There are the Kobe haters that just go in the threads to bait and have no substance at all. They just want to see a reaction, so just ignore them. If you are ignoring them rather than bashing them, then they will get bored and go back to their respected team forums. Sorry for being one of the people to jump on you, you bashed my post, so I was just responding back, I didn't mean to bash you(if I did). I know emotions are high, so that's why some of the out of character posts that some of you guys have made. I can let those slide, because I would be pissed off if I was in your place. Basically my point of this thread was to say to look at both sides of the story before you reply to someone and not everyone here are haters. I wouldn't consider myself a Laker hater, I just want to talk basketball and I can't go to my team forum, because the Magic didn't make the playoffs and there is nothing to talk about regarding them. Oh and good luck tonight. May the best team win and hopefully fair and consistent refereeing on both sides!
ay, all is well my man, it's too bad there wasn't one more week left in the regular season or your Magic team would have made the playoffs for sure. A Laker win tonight may mean a trip to the WCF, seriously, LETS GO!!!!!
