Geez....... why is it that people are judged for admiring another guy who bleaches his skin and pretends he has a skin disorder, gets his face reconstructed so he could look like Diana Ross, dangles babies from balconies, and finds pleasure in sleeping with young boys??

My favorite album of all time would have to be Venus' "Vertigone." The album is pure genius with a blend of tones, orchestra, alternative, acoustic, and simply the sinister. The track "Wanda Wulz" is done entirly with two pianos, a double bass, and a drum set yet it has more of an explosive sound than what most heavier music can offer up. "Asia" is simply psychotic with the tempo they use in blending the violin unnaturally with the drums and bass. The lyrics are well written as with most of their other songs but this one stands out for me. The psychologic abuse that is used has a hidden message. A "Million Miles Away" is one fantastic track which simply reminds me of ghosts. The use of the musical saw is genius and could never be replicated. "Running At Full Speed" is a four man orchestrated track balanced within beauty, abuse, and a subtle vibe that yet again could never be replicated. The lyrics are also notable as you would never assume a song of this magnatude would ever hold such vocals.

I'll have to d/l it for sure. Thanks for the recommendation. Also, I noticed they're signed to EMI France. Have you ever heard of a band called 'Air', also signed to EMI France? They're about the only French group on my playlist now to be honest. It's really kind of hard to find good European music in the states without working hard.

Venus has a wide range of tracks with different sounds and genre so everything is different but not to the point where you can't reckognize them as who they are for their unique sound. You can buy their albums and a lot of other stuff I listen to at the fnac. They ship to the US it's just pricy, as expected anyway. The site comes in English if you can't read French so no worries. I also write about Venus, check my article at http://www.wikipedia.org search for "Venus (band)." Yeah I know Air, they're legendary in Europe from what I know of. They're of the likes to France's Daft Punk and I'm sure everyone knows them. Not too many people know of Vitalic yet but I heard a song of his was used in a video game recently that was released in the US. I highly recommend the man he's pure genius when it comes to that style of music. Also quite funny, especially the videos he puts a lot of heart into what he does. You can check two videos here --> http://www.vitalicokcowboy.com/ "Poney Part 1" is more deep and hypnotic with a bunch of flying dogs in the video. "My Friend Dario" makes fun at music cultures. If you want to hear some other unique tunes give me a shout.
