damn! has daniel gibsons stock slipped that much? on nba draft net, they have him going at the middle of the second round. i know nba draft net isnt that reliable, but in the beginning of the season, wasnt he considered first round talent?

also, where is pops men sui (spelling)? i dont see him on nba draft net either. do you all think hes going to get undrafted? he seems like a lesser version of amare stoudemire to me

PS: on nba draft net, they have the lakers taking 6-9 poing guard sun yue from china. yes!

Yeah, let's draft a player who won't be ready to have an effect on the game until 4-5 years from now, while we pass up players who can be effective right away!

You guys really need to snag James White in the 2nd round, he'd fit in great in the Tri..I'm telling you.

I think that Marcus Vinicius would be the perfect fit for us. He can shoot like Peja. Most mocks compare him to Rashard, so he can stand outside and shoot treys all day.

id rather not to tell you the truth. the only international player i would look at is sun yue. im not trying to be racial or anything mind you, but the guy is a 6-9 point guard and is extremely versatile and can fit very well into the triangle. given the track records of international players, i think we might as well just keep it safe and draft a guy like leon powe.

Sun Yue is listed as a PG but he's more of a SG with handles and decent courtvision, I saw him play on NBA TV twice and wasnt too impressed I'd rather take a guy we've seen play in the US in the NCAA like Mardy Collins, Daniel Gibson, Leon Powe, Paul Davis etc.

I fully expect the Lakers to select James White with their first round pick.

Phil Jackson, in recent weeks, has been quoted on the radio saying that he'd like to acquire an explosive, athletic swingman with a good deal of college experience. Since then, the Lakers have invited White back for a 2nd workout. At the 2nd workout, Jerry Buss was present. How often is Buss present for workouts?

Here is a highlight video of his dunks, he's very explosive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzeAcPik4_s...h=James%20White

Windmill from the free throw line: http://www3.youtube.com/watch?v=JEG8rpaXpQ...h=james%20white

It's really hard to accept Kobe being the 2nd best dunker on the team, but White would bring us a lot of energy. He also has the ability to be a stand up player, if he can keep his head straight. I'm all for taking him.

Yeah White has been a player the team has scouted 4 straight years, however the Lakers organization throws out a lot of disinformation this time of the year.

Another player they were impressed with was Diaz, and he fits in with the "explosive" description. However, if the Lakers land Banks, hard to imagine they also select Diaz.

The Lakers are constantly coming up in trade rumors, I'm really curious to see if they are going to get a blockbuster deal done.

Let's connect the dots for a minute and picture this scenario.

The Lakers end up pulling off the Lamar Odom to Chicago deal, which lands them the #2 pick in the draft, the trade exception, and Ben Gordon. I really can't justify why the Bulls do this, other than bringing in a veteran player to balance out some of their youth.

Maybe they feel a trio of Hinrich-Deng-Odom can be better than the Odom-Wade-E. Jones in Miami?

But assuming it plays out this would give the Lakers Gordon, #2, a trade exception.

Now the Lakers have some leverage to go after a superstar player like KG or JO.

#2, Bynum, McKie (expiring contract) and the Trade Exception for KG?

This gives the TWolves the #2 pick in the draft, Bynum, a ton of cap space, and #6 pick overall. They can rebuild with 3 young players right away and clear off KG from their salary cap.

Lakers end up with Gordon, Kobe, KG, Kwame core and draft a SF at #26.

This is similar to the moves the Lakers made when they landed Shaq and traded for Kobe Bryant. The key was trading away Vlade Divac to clear up money to sign Shaq.

That all seems very far-fetched to me. I think Chicago is fixiated on drafting Thomas or Aldridge, so I don't seem them shipping their pick.

I'll settle for White, we need some athleticism. White could easily replace George.

Definitely far-fetched, there are so many variables that have to take place in order for this to go down. I'm just prepared either way, I just don't want any panic moves made after Miami won the title.
