    Hey guys, I know you've been hearing it all about how & why Kobe played the way he did (offensively) in the 2nd half... But what are your thoughts on that whole thing?

    I'm pretty stumped myself, but hey, maybe he was trying to make a point... Out of all the games he could've made that statement on, why did he have to do it today...

    Anyways..... GO CLIPS!!!!!!!!!! [IMG] [IMG]

    because he knew that the only way to beat the suns is if he could get everybody in a rythm... he could easily get 40 pts against them but he knows it wasnt enough so he just tried and tried to involve his teammates

    Hard to say, if Kobe Bryant starts pressing the offense I don't think the Lakers had enough to time to catch up and win the game. The Suns were sending two or three guys at him to force the pass from Kobe.

    The offense wasn't the issue in this game, it was the defense that cost the Lakers this game.

    He played the game Phil wanted him to play. Jackson wanted Kobe to get everyone involved, and if they got going, he wanted Kobe to take over from there. As it's obvious, the first part never happened.

    The first thing I thought was echoed by Rick Bucher. It almost looked like an act of spite. Whether it was towards his teammates for not making shots, or the media for criticising his game 6 strategy.

    One way or the other, I believe he was trying to make a point, because at some point, Kobe shooting is the best way to help the team.

    Thats true to... Also, I think Kobe is hating the fact that his team mates are always not rising-to-the-occasion when they need to... Those guys couldn't make shhhht!!!!! And I MEAN SHHHHHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I don't know, if Kobe is worried about what the media critics say, I think quitting on his team out of spite would draw far more criticism.

    Kobe was making the right decision to pass out of the double and triple teams, but the shots weren't falling for his teammates like they did in the first 4 games.

    The Lakers shot chart tells the story of how frustrating this game was.

    Lakers Shot Chart

    All those misses in and around the paint were shots they should have converted.

    3-9 :: 1stQ
    2-3 :: 2ndQ
    0-6 :: 3rdQ
    2-5 :: 4thQ

    7-23 :: Total

    No, Phil said to get everyone involved and if they WEREN'T playing well, to start taking over. The first part in that case DID happen, and then Kobe didn't take over. Which you can't blame him for, he can't win it seems. I believe Kobe didn't want to shoot his way to a loss he would have been roasted by critics. The "I told you so"s would be deafening. I got the sense that Kobe wants a few roster changes, I don't know, he seemed disappointed in certain players, without actually naming names. I think probably three starters and 2 bench players are gonna be gone this summer.

    the only game that jobe scored more than 30 pts was the game that bell missed...

    First of all his name is Kobe. He barely shot in the second half, did you not see him get 23 in the first half? It was more Kobe trying to play how Phil wanted which just doesn't work with this supporting cast night after night. It's sad that that is his last game as number 8.

    everything that could have possibly went wrong for us went wrong. guys werent rebounding, odom couldnt play D, odom wasnt aggressive, kwame turned back to kwame, kobe went cold in the second half, and ect. basically, im not too surprised that we lost. we couldnt stop the suns early on, and we couldnt stop them late. we didnt score much down low, and the suns actuallly out scored us in the paint by 10. anyways, as dissapointing as it seems, this has been a great ride, and im looking forward to next season. peace

    Kobe got his point across about Raja Bell, he abused him in the first half and chose not to shoot in the second half. I just feel there was a point where Kobe gave up on the game and put it all on his teammates instead of shooting. I was never one who thought Kobe shot too much, so I believe he should have kept shooting.

    Kobe just tried to get his team involved like Phil asked. Unfortunately for the Lakers, it didn't work.

    Hey can we get a mod in here to squash NBA dream and his non-intelligent or insightful comments. He is basically repeating himself and simply trying to make people angry.
