ok. i know there is a lot of what ifs, but what if mitch used up our MLE and signed someone like sprewell or duhon instead of saying, we wont use our MLE on one player, and then goes out and signs mckie and jackson, who didnt play much at all. again, i know there are a lot of what ifs, but i think if mitch was smarter, and signed someone like duhon or spre, it would have made a huge difference in the playoffs against the suns

Man forget about the past... Just look what the lakers gained as a team from their experience in the playoffs. I know Kobe will come back stronger than ever next year. He never lets us down.

The use of the MLE since Kupcake became GM has been a complete waste for the Lakers.

    - Devean George
    - Vlade Divac
    - Aaron McKie

Kupcake has been lousy in all areas of GM. Free agent signings, drafts, and trades. He doesn't have any vision on building this team and is banking on landing a superstar player.

The two moves the Lakers should have made was ...

    1) Sign Earl Watson for the MLE
    2) Trade Bynum & George for Ron Artest

    PG - Watson
    SG - Kobe
    SF - Artest
    PF - Odom
    C - Kwame

This starting 5 makes it to the WCF, and the Lakers probably go in as the 6th seed in the West.

I totally agree. Why did he bring in Aaron Mckie. and Vlade Divac... Man our manager does not know anything about basketball. I wonder what Kobe feels about him. He should become the manager of the lakers.

Yeah, Bulls would have matched for Duhon, and I don't think Spree even wants to play anymore, he probably wouldn't have turned out much better than McKie. Should have signed Watson like Shape said, and then trade Bynum, 2006 1st rounder, and George for Artest. Contenders right there.
