<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"With Jamaal, he's a starting center on a playoff team; you can't deny that," Harris said. "The guy has a skill, he has a talent, and there are not a lot of true centers. . . . So when you're thinking about moving people around and moving size around, you better make sure you get the pieces that complement the players you do have."

One of those needs, Harris said, would be to find a young, athletic power forward during the off-season.

"We're going to need some kind of a 4 man," Harris said.</div>

I would love for this trade to happen:

Miami Heat trade: Jason Williams and Antoine Walker
Miami Heat Receive: Mike James and Joey Graham

Toronto trades: Mike James Eric Will and Joey G
Toronto receive: Jason Williams and Jamaal Magloire

    Bucks trade: Magloire
Bucks receive: Antoine Walker and Eric William

    Reasons:
Toronto: We receive a big man (Maggs) and a PG who can distribute the ball (J.Will)

Miami: Mike James will fit in perfectly under Riley's system, and they receive a young SF in Joey Graham.

Bucks: IMO i think Walker can play the PF much better than the SF

    New-Starting Line-ups:
    Toronto:
    Jason Williams
    Mo-Pete/or drafted player
    Charlie V
    Chris Bosh
    Jamaal Magloire

    Bucks:
    TJ Ford
    Redd
    Simmons
    Walker
    Bogut

    Heat:
    Mike James
    Dwayne Wade
    Joey Graham
    Haslem
    Shaq

I think you've got the players right, but Toronto's getting too much and Milwaukee's getting too little. I know the Bucks are looking for a good defender at the 3. Maybe James Posey instead of Walker? Not sure if the contracts are close enough.

Yea, we would probably have to give Mo-Pete instead of Graham. But then again, Miami still has no reason to trade Jason Williams for Mike James.

Yeah right, the Heat would love to get rid of Antoine Walker especially the fans. I don't see Raptors benefitting in getting Jason Williams.

what's the hype about magloire other than him being native torontonian?

he is solid but definitely not worth it to sign long term big contract with

rather sign reggie evans the ball grabber and wilcox
and both salary combined still would be quite a bit less than magloire

I just don't think we'll be able to sign and trade mike james, i really think its out of the question.

One thing i noticed is there seems to a sentiment in this forum that we need to to conform to a traditional starting line up e.g big centre (magloire) and true point gaurd e.g luke ridnour or Jason williams. Personally watching the suns play and the mismatches they created due to their unorthodoxed line up v.s the lakers really won them that series. Anyway it just made me think if we drafted an athletic pf who could run. Tyrus Thomas, Andrea Bargnani or Aldrige. I liked the mismatches our team created when we had Sow, Bosh and CV playing at the same time. I think you can make up for not having a "true centre" by team size.

I would love a lineup like this:

C - Tyrus Thomas or Aldrige or BArgnani
    PF - CB4
    SF - CV31
    SG - Mo Pete
    PG. Mike James

bench: Joey Graham, Bonner, SOW, Calderon

I think we would also need to add a off gaurd and p.g either in the draft or via f.a Maybe: Flip Murray and draft dee brown

The main question with this line up would be M. James and rather he could get everybody involved. Anyway i typed this fast i hope the idea makes some sense.

I know right now Thomas and Aldrige are likely out of our reach but who knows what will happen in the lottery or we could trade up.

The problem with that type of team is that they aren't built to last in the playoffs. The Mavs learned that the hard way a few years ago. And judging by the moves Colangelo had made during the offseason, the Suns had too. I think this year, they were forced to rely almost entirely on the fast break to win them games, because of injuries to Stoudemire and Kurt Thomas. And they only barely got past a less talented Lakers team that relied on a style more suited for the playoffs.

A rebounding, defending, post presence at the 5-spot is an absolute necessary for this team. And this franchise. Doesn't have to be a star, but should be good enough to ease the load off Bosh. But, we've never had one like that. AD maybe, but he was undersized and had only a few really good years. That said, I don't Jamaal Magloire is necessarily our answer. He's regressed from his All-Star season. In fact, I doubt people would even be mentioning his name that much if he hadn't been selected to the All-Star Game that one season.

I don't like Magloire, he's slow and overrated down here in Canada. He should stay down in Milwaukerton. And Jason Williams? I think he's a little shaky for a pointguard.

Just with regard to magloire I know a lot of people are screaming overrated. But i wouldn't mind trying him out for a year. he avgs 10 & 10 basically and besides that 04/05 year where he only played 23 games he is not really injury prone. This marks the 4 season in 5 years where he has played in all 82 games a year. His contract expires at the end of next year so if it doesn't work out we wouldn't be stuck with him forever. Also I would imagine he wouldnt be that hard to get from milwaukee since they have so much commited to Bogut and gadzuric over the next 4yrs.

Anyway, i just think he would love playing in front of a hometown crowd and the fact that he doesn't really need touches to be involved makes him an attractive option.

Anyway, Magloire could be an alternative to getting a bidding war for guys like Nazr Mohammed and Joel Przybilla or NENE.

thats a good trade idea, but in my opinion a more realistic trade that could happen is mike james and our first rounder for jamaal and a throw i (maybe charlie bell). I think this would be a good trade as long as we could agree to an extension with magloire before the deal goes down to make sure he's not a one year ental player (worth about 3 yrs, 30 mil prob) and a frontcourt with cv31, cb4 n magloire would be downrite scary.
