just watching quite frankly, and a while ago they were discussing game 7, and how in the second half kobe just completely shut it down. scoop said that there must have been something that went down in the locker room at half time between phil and kobe. what happened, he said we will most likely never know. also, tim leger, the other guest, said that it looked like kobe just completely gave up and said he just lost all hopes of winning the game. i know game 7 is over, but i find this very interesting. discuss.

It was probably just locker room frustration.. Hell, I would be VERY pissed if we had a 3-1 series lead and it went to game 7, not to mention that the 1st half of game 7 was a disaster for Lakers. Kobe probably got upset that the rest of the team possibly "lacked" the potential to win. Just an opinion, but like the rest I don't really know.

But, I heard during the game that they were saying that Phil told Kobe to "shoot less", and I guess Kobe just stuck to the game plan even though his teammates were missing from almost everywhere.

Damn!!! I was so disappointed by our performance in Game 7, I expected it to come down to the wire.

I'm not really sure about this controversy... In fact I didn't even know that there was one until I read the daily dime on ESPN. I just thought that Phil and Kobe decided to try and re-establish the other players on the Lakers in the 2nd half first and that unfortunately did not work at all and by the time Kobe needed to take over we were down by 25. I think the controversy is more in the minds of people who are ready to criticize Kobe for anything at any second. Atleast according to these same people the Kobe and MJ comparisons will stop because of this "failure." That is the best thing to come out of it because Kobe is Kobe and the comparisons between them and arguements that ensued were annoying and pointless. Unfortunately I doubt that the debate between them will end but here is for hoping.

The Lakers stuck to their game plan. Unfortunately, no one in the Laker team came out to play. Kwame was missing layups. Smush seemed that he just wanted to go on vacation letting Nash drive by him like if it was a scrimige practice game. Odom was frustrating that no one was making shots after he was passing the ball and Kobe figured out that as hard as he tried they were not going to come back down by 25 points in the fourth quater. Lakers just gave up after being down 15 pints in the first quater. The media will not stop critiziing Kobe until he wins a championship on his own. Its unfortunate that they dislike him.
