He's far to inconsistent for someone of his experience and he's very injury prone. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...turn_to_lakers/
Thats good he has been struggling lately. He will probabaly be like other ex lakers and go to the heat.
I wouldn't mind having George back, he brought some hustle on defense and hit those 3's when we needed him, I don't understand why everyone here seems to hate the man.
I wouldn't say we hate him, but he failed his expectations immediately. He was supposed to be a player that could give you 16, 5, and 2 on average, but because of injuries he can't. Even when he's healthy, he doesn't have an impact on the game. For his production, he wants too much money and that's not going to fly with the Lakers. Let Miami have him, he's not going to be successful there, either.
Time to let George go. No more original championship players left besides kobe. Turn a new leaf and get garnett!
The lakers should start getting new players because the same old players arent going to change the franchise. But george should stay for a 2 year contract with the LAL
I think we should re-sign George to a much smaller contract. While he may be inconsistent and injury-prone he does bring hustle and versatility. Signing him to a 1 mil two or three year deal would be fine. It wouldn't break the bank and it would give us a backup at the 2, 3, and 4 depending on matchups that knows the triangle.
i actually like devean. hes the last link to our three peat seasons. but oh well, like most of you said, if he demands a lot of money, just let him walk. if he comes cheap, id definetly resign him
I don't think he wants to leave. I have a feeling he'll accept a $2.5M contract. If he does leave, I'm not going to lie, I will miss him as he'll be the only person apart from Kobe that played a significant part in the championship runs. However, we can't look back on the past and we have to move forward. Once that Brian Grant contract is over, we will have great cap space for free agent signings.
I like Devean, but I don't think he'll be worth signing back. He'll probably go to the Bobcats and ball it up with all the ex-Lakers that Mitch Kupcake sent away that would've been a huge help for us.
it's alright... of course he has sentimental value BUT the lakers currently have role players when all they need are players who are consistent
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LAKERSKB8:</div><div class="quote_post">The Lakers have to rebuild. George will have not impact on this rebuilding period.</div> The last thing you would want is to try to rebuild when you have the leagues best player in his prime. The story of Garnett.
