ANyone catch TNT after the Clippers/Suns game? Barkley said Kobe text messaged him about 20 times about the comments Barkley made after Game 7 about how Kobe was selfish for not shooting the ball and giving up on his team and Kobe explained his side of the story. Did anyone catch the whole thing or know what happened? THis is crazy....
It was nothing kobe and charles talked about how he shot and missed two in a row than the suns hit two threes and how kobe didnt come through enough but charles still praised kobe
Well this is typical for Kobe. No matter what he does, it's selfish. "Kobe you scored 52 today, does that make you selfish?" or "Hey, Kobe, you had 12 asts today, are you just trying to rack up assists for own personal gain?"
Are you sure there wasn't more to that? I just want to know the exact details, and why Kobe text messaged instead of calling him?
Kobe spent his time texting charles? 20 times? Sounds kinda wrong to me. Are you sure? Wheres the proof of this? Why would Kobe waste his time?
Bro, i swear, that's what I'm tryna find out....I heard it with my own hears after the CLippers/Suns game, but I heard the second half of it, not the whole part. Someone else must have seen that post game show on TNT.
Im a big fan of text messaging... most people are. You guy's have never had a girl trying to call you and you'd rather just text cause your with your buddies or just don't feel like talking on the phone?
Yeah I saw this segment last night about Kobe contacting Chuck via text messaging. Kobe took exception to Barkley's criticism the last two games and felt Barkley had an agenda against him. Game 6 Barkley called him selfish for shooting too much, Game 7 Barkley called him selfish for not shooting enough. He said Kobe was trying to make a point by only taking 3 shots in the 2nd half. Kobe wanted to let Barkley know his side of the story.
Text messaging -- I never got a handle of that. Seems too cumbersome to type out a message on a cell phone. But I guess if a technophobe like Barkley can use it, I should be able to as well.
Once again, Shape comes through. Thanks a lot for that video. Some might disagree, but I think Kobe did the right thing by contacting Charles and letting him know how he feels. I really enjoyed Kenny's comments after Chuck's and I think he hit it on the nail. What he said was exactly what I think happened. Charles needs to kick it on the disrespectful talk. Making comments of "Kobe is selfish" or "Kobe gave up" is not cool, and I can absolutely 100% see why Kobe would take offense to that. A lot of people watch TNT, all it takes is one person to make someone change their mind on something. Charles says he has no agenda and all that mess, but it is a fact he likes some people more than others. Off the top of my head, he loves the Spurs, Duncan, etc. He makes it quite obvious that he favors some over others.

Quoting VinsanityVC15:

It was nothing kobe and charles talked about how he shot and missed two in a row than the suns hit two threes and how kobe didnt come through enough but charles still praised kobe
After the watching the whole video, first, I would not say "it was nothing". Second, it was Kenny who said the part about Kobe missed two shots, then Suns came back and made two threes to put it to a 30 pt lead. Even before Saturday night, Charles has always praised Kobe that he was the best basketball player in the world. But, I'm getting sick of tired of him USING that compliment to bash him repeatedly on several different instances. Then when someone calls him a "Kobe-hater" or takes offense to what he says, he'll say, "Listen I already told you I think he's the best basketball player in the world" You see what I'm saying? He really gets on my nerves, not even because of the Kobe thing, he thinks he's the Basketball God and knows everything. I really prefer Kenny over Charles.
Charles Barkley is entitled to his opinion of the situation, but he should back up his statements with some facts. He was all over the map with his views in Game 6 and Game 7. Kobe was great in both of those games, and Barkley still criticized him without anything to support it. Kobe was 20/35 in Game 6, and was bailing his teammates out. Barkley said his 15 misses from the perimeter helped the Suns push the tempo. His theory makes sense, but the facts don't support his claim. If you look at the shot chart from Game 6, Kobe's 15 misses were not all from the perimeter. 1st Q - Missed 1 Jumpshots 2nd Q - Missed 1 Jumpshots 3rd Q - Missed 3 Jumpshots 4th Q - Missed 4 Jumpshots OT - Missed 2 Jumpshots So 11 out his 15 misses were jumpshots. Barkley claims the Suns scored each time from those misses, another false claim. Looking at the Play by Play tells a different story. Blue indicates PHX didn't score Green indicates PHX scored 1st Quarter Kobe Bryant misses 19-foot jumper (11:41) <font color=""Blue"">Shawn Marion misses 12-foot jumper 2nd Quarter Kobe Bryant misses 16-foot jumper (3:24) <font color=""blue"">Lakers Defensive Rebound 3rd Quarter Kobe Bryant misses 21-foot jumper (10:15) <font color=""green"">Steve Nash makes free throw 1 of 2 Steve Nash makes free throw 2 of 2 Kobe Bryant misses 25-foot three point jumper (4:45) <font color=""green"">Steve Nash makes 16-foot jumper Kobe Bryant misses 21-foot jumper (2:49) <font color=""blue"">Tim Thomas lost ball (Smush Parker steals) 4th Quarter Kobe Bryant misses 21-foot jumper(9:25) <font color=""Green"">Leandro Barbosa makes driving layup Kobe Bryant misses 25-foot three point jumper (5:11) <font color=""Blue"">Steve Nash misses 16-foot jumper Kobe Bryant misses 21-foot jumper (2:24) <font color=""blue"">Phoenix full timeout Kobe Bryant misses 17-foot jumper (0:01) <font color=""blue"">End of Regulation OT Kobe Bryant misses 16-foot jumper (2:00) <font color=""Green"">Tim Thomas makes three point jumper (Boris Diaw assists) Kobe Bryant misses 28-foot three point jumper (0:25) <font color=""blue"">Kwame Brown offensive rebound So out of the 11 perimeter misses, the Suns only scored 4 times the entire game.
You know Kobe loves that Uh, I bet a hundred bucks that when Kobe texted Charles Barkley "20 times", he didn't intend for Charles to bring it up on NATIONAL TV!!! If he wanted to respond to Charles publicly, he would have said it at a press conference. I think Barkley shows not very much class by bringing up their private thing on TV. Barkley has guts, but he'll do anything to put the spotlight on him. Kenny Smith, however, is starting to convince me he's a basketball genius. He's by far the best TV analyst that's on right now.

Shape, excellent post man. THat point you brought up about Barkley saying Kobe missed 15 shots and helped push the tempo, I told my friends the SAME exact thing you were saying. It was nice that you had some facts to back up your points. And I agree with phunDamentalz on Kenny, he's really starting to impresses me. He, unlike Charles, is very unbias and says it how it is.
Kobe probably has a sidekick or something. It's just like typing out messages like on a forum...don't think it'd take long for Kobe to text messaging him 20 times.
