Neither an x-ray nor MRI detected anything more serious. "Just a sprained ankle,'' Jefferson said. "It's feeling better. No swelling, more just like a bruise. There's still tenderness but every few hours, it feels like it gets better." "We'll see where Richard's at tomorrow," Lawrence Frank said. "He's not out." Jefferson left the arena Monday in a walking boot and crutches but walked unaided into practice.</div> Source
The nets better hope Jefferson returns soon cuz they will need all the help they can get to beat the heat. The Heat will play with a lot more intensity then they did in the first game.
I am sorry to say this, but RJ is going to be out for the rest of the season (what ever remains of it). I remember getting the same exact injury that he got. I was about for three weeks + another two weeks of rehab (five weeks total). Assuming that the NBA doctors are better than what I had, we can cut his recovery time to two weeks..... I doubt that the Nets will be able to stick around for two weeks.
RJ said he could have came back and played last night, so obviously he's a little more resilient than you. He's questionable for game 2 so I wouldn't exactly say he's out for the season.

He is not going to have any mobility when he tests it. That is, he'll have the mobility, but through a tremendous amount of pain. I saw how he hurt his ankle...It was almost identical to how I got my injury. If he plays, and plays well at that, then I will bow down to him as if he were an immortal god.
i think we would of had a better chance winning if he didnt play o well we still have homecourt advantage and i have tickets to game 3
