The Bulls would like the 7-footer to remain in Chicago to refine his skills, but the Australian is being enticed to play for his native country in the August world championships. Former Australian player Chris Anstey refused the Bulls' request to remain in Chicago for the summer of 2000. He instead competed for Australia in the Sydney Summer Olympics. Anstey has not returned to the NBA since declining the Bulls' offer. ?</div> <div align="center"> Source</div>
Yeah, it is but the Bulls want him to reform his skills with them in the off-season SP. I have watched Luke since his GT days and he is a decent player. I can't believe that he got signed to the NBA, but he is decent. If I was him I would stay with the Bulls over the off-season.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking after I posted. I do agree that he should stay, because he has a really nice opportunity.
The big reason this is such a dilemma for Luke is also because he will not have a contract next season. He is going to participate in the Bulls summer camp, and try to earn a roster spot, so needless to say being on the organizations good side would go a long way in helping his situation. On the other hand the opportunity to play for your country is one that many guys only dream of. Just imagine the rush Luke must be feeling right now to go from the NBDL one year, to possibly representing your country in the Summer Olympics. Luke is in a tough spot right now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Manchurian Candidate:</div><div class="quote_post">What would you do SP and BKS?</div> I honestly have no idea. I don?t know what type of messages the organization is sending Luke, but if he feels as though by staying here he is going to have a ?guaranteed? roster spot, then I would stay. However, if that is not the case I would probably go to the Olympics, because that is a once in a life time opportunity chances are if the Bulls don?t resign him he might catch on with another NBA roster.
I pretty much agree with BKS. I totally forgot he would not have a guaranteed contract. So that's why I said I would stay earlier.
You guys are going to start making me bleed Red and Black because I really like talking to you two guys.

No, if I were him I would focus on my career rather then a one off tournament.
I v seen Luke play at GT. The only reason he is in the NBA is his height. I think Luke should go ahead and play for Australia, get PT and play aganist centers from all around the world, and then see if anyone wants him for next year. He's pretty much guaranteed a NBDL spot next year if he plays for Australia this summer.
