<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Orlando Sentinel - According to the Orlando Sentinel, Magic guard DeShawn Stevenson has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Magic General Manager Otis Smith said Stevenson had surgery last Thursday and will be sidelined from basketball activity for a month. "It was a cleanout," Smith said. "He'll be fine." Stevenson's three-year contract expires after next season, but he has until July 1 to use his player's option and become a free agent this year. Smith said he wants Stevenson to return.</div> Glad he's okay. I kinda think he'll end up staying with the Magic.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinsanityVC15:</div><div class="quote_post">For some reason i really like deshawn. he can score when he wants to but hes just lazy.</div> I wouldn't say that he was lazy persay, he just can't finish around the basket. I don't know how many times he made a very nice move and then missed the layup. I'm sure some of it was because of his leg, because he would have dunked it. I'm glad to hear that his surgery went great and I hope he decides to stay and continue to give the Magic his defensive presence. If not, I wish him the best of luck whereever he goes and whoever gets him will get a good quality roleplayer.
I'm glad Stevenson is okay, I hope he comes back I think he is way underratted even by Magic fans. He is a team player, a good defender, he can score by driving or hitting the mid-range jumpshot and most importantly he was one of the few players that looked to go to Dwight on a regular basis + he is young and is only going to get better.

He's been lucky and has been making jump shots lately, but every time he shoots one I go "No DeShawn!!!. . . phew"

I don't understand how an NBA player can miss as many layups as he did last year.

I would guess that 1/2 of the layups that Deshawn attempted would have been dunks if he were healthy.

I like Deshawn a lot and I'm one of his bigger supporters, but there's no denying that he struggles around the rim bum knee or not. I mean he can definetely develop around the basket, because he's still extremely young. I doubt that half of his layups would have been dunks. He's not much of a game dunker, even when he got time with Chris Jent and Doc Rivers/Johnny Davis(year before), he wasn't really a dunker, he would always go up for layups. I know he would dunk more if he didn't have a bad knee, but 1/2 is too much, IMO.
I really like DeShawn, he's probably one of my favorite current Magic players. But, if he wants to go then I say let him. I'm glad he got through his surgery okay.
I saw a video of him when he was in the McDonalds high school dunk contest. I never knew he was such a crazy athlete. When he dunked, his head was seriously at the rim, like really at the rim! I've only seen him and Shawn Kemp do that.
yeah, Deshawn he is a great leaper and very athletic. he is one of the most underrated players in the league in my opinion
