I'm a fan of an AFC team, but I can tell the Redskins [/i]EXACTLY WHY they lost & got shutout like a bunch of wimps on 10-30-05!!

Sometimes, yes even when you are behind, you have to RUN the ball! Especially when you have "one of the BEST RB's" in the NFL, in Portis. Portis needs to get 20+ carries per game! Gibbs or the Offensive coordinator needs to use him, or lose without him, like they did against the Giants. The Redskins are NOT a passing team, Portis is their #1 weapon!!

SO, the reason the Redskins lost is BECAUSE...

PORTIS ONLY HAD 4 RUSHING ATTEMPTS!!!!!!

That's riduculious! It's like the Bears not using Walter Payton or the Browns not using Jim Brown, when they were in the prime of their carreers!

Broncos fan, Portis isnt even a Top Ten Back IMO. Your MOther could rush a 1000 in Denver.

Well they got crushed so badly even if they played Portis more they still would've lost.

Well he's right. Portis getting only 4 attempts is not part of any game plan. Gibbs offense is mainly to run the ball. Portis needs to see at least 15 carries a game for them to compete with a team like the Giants. Especially the way the Giants play at home. Their tough in the Meadowlands.

Still rushed for a lot of yards last year in washington with a non-existant passing game.

When teams want to go out and prove something they are dangerous. Giants wanted to go out and win one for their late owner. This also happen with the saints and hurricane katrina when they played the panthers

Thats true but he also fumbled a crapload and was very inconsistent. Nowadays anyone can rush for a 1000, it all matters on when those runs came.

Without any sort of passing game to rush for 1300 yards is not very easy. Portis is easily a top 10 back. He should see the ball 20-30 times a game at least and Washington would be very much a contending team.

No matter how badly you're getting killed, you can't abandon the running game entirely.

4 carries is embarrassing. You're telling me they couldn't even line up four or five wide receivers and try a draw play every once in a while?

    Lame...

yea the fact that they didnt even try the running game even in the first half is pathetic. but really the reason is Giants had more emotion and just are a better team

when tiki barber had that huge run, it was all down hill from there. But if your star player is your running back give him the ball!!!

Yeah the Giants had too much going for them, and Portis isn;t a top 5 running back in the league anymore. He hadn;t had a TD up until last week.
