On Page 2 of ESPN, saw a couple of Bulls notes so just decided to post them, to start a little discussion. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kirk Hinrich. Is it too late to convince him to play for the 2008 Olympic team? Come on, Kirk, we want to give the USA car keys to you and Chris Paul for the next six years. Please change your mind. Which reminds me. ...</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Scott Skiles. Really, he couldn't have found 25 minutes a game for Tim Thomas this season? The third one I agree with totally. I mean you see how Tim Thomas is doing now, he is still in the playoffs.
I think the only reason is because he kept getting injured if I remember correct, and never stayed healthy.
Yeah, but still I mean when you have someone that is talented like that not even letting him play and then letting him go was just stupid IMO.
The thing about Tim Thomas was he wasn’t going to come back to the team this summer anyway. He was a free agent so why would he have come back to a team with Luol Deng and Andres Nocioni at the same position he played? The Bulls made the right move although they might have given up a talented player for nothing, when they waived TT. In the long run by doing that they allowed Nocioni and Deng to gain more experience and flourish. Another thing that cost TT in Chicago was his work ethic, and inability to accept constructive criticism. Skiles and Paxson called him out on his conditioning, and asked him to improve in that area? How did he respond? Instead of working hard and proving them wrong (like Sweetney did) he refused to dress and was a constant pain in the neck. In short when we got him from the Knicks it was for his contract nothing more nothing less he wasn’t part of our long term plans, and would have been gone after this season anyway. I still don’t agree with articles that say he would have helped us get by the Heat, because first of all despite his size he is not physical enough to guard Shaq. He also does not score from down low, most of his points come off of jump shots, so basically he would have played the same role Nocioni did. As far as the rest of the article goes good find SP23 I definitely agree with the Hinrich thing. Hinrich in a couple of years will be one of the top point guards in the leaguehe would have been a huge asset to team USA.
