What a misleading highlight reel. Adonal looked pretty good there.

Adonal Foyle is not the first person that comes to my mind when I think of Highlight Reel.

I didn't make it, I just found it on You Tube. But I guess I should have titled this thread "Foyle Bloopers," since those images of him doing good things are really the anomalies. [IMG] Nah, Big-O does look pretty good here, indeed

The guy who made it, BBJ, made a mix for all the players. If you search you'll find a thread to his videos on this forum.

I guess I must be a Foyle-hater. I just remember all those times Foyle missed an uncontested dunk or an easy layup or dropped the easiest passes. He's clearly not the same player he was three years ago when he was giving Dampier a run for his money at starter.

Could it be he has the same symptoms as Dampier? get a fat contract then stink it up. But Foyle is so bad that Dampier looks great

And Dampier is currently second/third string center to DJ Mbenga and Dasagana Diop. Imagine if teams got wise and just gave Dampier a one year contract every year.

When Damp is hungry he gets some pretty sweet putback dunks and some monster offensive rebounds. Plus, he's a good passer from the post when he actually catches the ball. Of course he does this more often than Murph because he can play with his back to the basket some and get deep, deep position in the post against most centers. He's a better catcher than Foyle and can win a tip-off or a jump ball at least once. I haven't seen Foyle's feet actually leave the ground this season.

Damp what a waste. He's got the strength and athleticism to dominate but he just doesn't care it seems.

I love that song. Sat next to this gal yesterday that would fit the description of Carribean Queen -- slim yet full breasts, long shapely legs, cocoa complexion, big hair styled tropically that you long to reach out and touch, a face too easy to gaze into, a tight butt you could pour into anything...

But I digress, here's another Foyle highlight:

I guess that I found the best..and worst of Adonal both memorable. I HAVE seen Foyle moments that look like Amare,or the best D around. On offense he has learned moves over the years but he does not pull them out often, and when he does there may be some dark comedy as a result.

On D,Adonal has a LOT of blocks in his career and blocks look good in highlight reels. A rebound with a good long outlet pass,or a real brickwall pick adds something..and Adonal's done that. He manages to make mistakes that look absolutely spaz...but do less damage than Dun going 1-6 from 3.

Both Foyle and Dunleavy instantly come to mind why this franchise continues to suck.

Our top 3 pick in several years and we wind up with a mediocre player in a shallow draft (Dunleavy Jr.). Then Foyle is a reminder of the several years we've missed out on a franchise guy that came right from high school (we draft by pickin guys that did well in a weak college conference but had no upside). I mean Colgate? WTF? Foyle's numbers look great back in school, but the guy never improved... Both Dunleavy and Foyle are just so overpaid, inconsistent, and embarassing players on this team and they probably combine as the most inconsistent starters ever. I think everybody shows flashes of being awesome, but these guys just need to be consistent role players. I know we can blame Murphy or Richardson or other guys for not doing what these guys do, but c'mon at least there's some measure of consistency in certain stats. It's one of the reasons why Foyle and Dunleavy kept getting benched this year, but their backups Biedrins and Pietrus are too raw on basketball I.Q. to stay on the floor and make something.

Everybody knows this, but center and small forward are positions we need badly. I think Fisher is adequate, but we really need a guy that can score inside, intimidate and a small forward that isn't slow as Dunleavy and can play like a shooting guard and shoot.

Foyle is what he is. A very good shot blocker, above average defender, and well below average offensive player.

The disappointing thing about Foyle is that his PER has gone down every year for the past four years. I don't think there's any player on the team who I would want to play better than he has. I really want to like him because he's a bright guy who works hard and is the furthest thing from the dillusional "me first" 21st century athlete. But he's just not that good.

I guess on the bright side, if he's not moved in the next two years, he's going to become very valuable again as an expiring contract.

Wtwalker, yeah I can definitely relate. Foyle is no primadonna like T.O. or Spree or any of these other headcases that have affected a bay area franchise. But man... talk about ruining our only shot at an honest inside game this season. Without it, we're exposed even more as a poor outside shooting team that can't shoot free throws or dribble the ball much. We've lost a few games that I know we could have won based on a made layup (even with all the missed free throws) if Foyle wasn't so pitiful catching a pass for an easy dunk/layup. The other four guys are being guarded, one is actually being doubled, and he can't do one thing to help out the other four guys on offense? His defense in general is overrated, but we keep him because Murphy's help defense/shot deflecting and our perimeter defense ain't that good. Foyle + Murphy really combine to make one guy (Donyell Marshall!). A tweener-type role player that can shoot from deep, rebound, block shots, and offers no inside scoring.
