Oh my God were they way off on this one. Just out of curiosity, I went back into nbadraft.net and read through some past drafts, mainly players descriptions/projections and I thought I'd post Tyson's description. About the only thing they got right was his lack of strength and maturity.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it also says he has range all the way out to the college 3 point line??? If he did indeed demonstrate this in HS, what do you think the reason is for his lack of an outside shot? Are our coaches not working with him and are relegated to seeing Tyson as just a defensive specialist? Or do you think he is just lazy and doesn't want to work on his offensive game? Anyway, here was his description going into the 2001 draft (wow, already 5 years ago):

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NBA Comparison: Rasheed Wallace

Strengths: 7 footers with his athleticism come around every 10-20 years. Has good desire, and intelligence. Good shot blocker. Has good passing ability. Can shoot the ball well, and runs the floor like a deer. Has a chance to be a special special player in a few years.

Weaknesses: Strength, maturity. Will never have the strength of a Shaq or Eddy Curry. Initially, at just 225 pounds and an underdeveloped body, he will be forced to play away from the basket. Wants to be like Kevin Garnett and play on the perimeter, but has very underdeveloped ball skills. Doesn't always display maximum effort. A jump straight to the pros looks likely, his body and mind are not ready for a 40 game season much less an 82 game one.

Has exceptional agility and touch. as well as great run jump athleticism. Can knock down shots all the way out to college 3. Very quick. Expectations were high after he appeared on 60 minutes before entering the 9th grade and he has finally begun to deliver on them. Shot blocker extraordinaire. Lead his HS team (Dominguez, Compton) to be 1999 National High School Champions. Needs to get A LOT stronger after being overpowered and embarrassed by HS PF Ousmane Cisse at the Nike Camp in July. At times lacks intensity. Could use a year of college "seasoning" more than Curry but none and done looks like a foregone conclusion</div>

I never saw much of Tyson’s high school video so I’m not sure about the range thing, but just seeing him on a regular day bases it seems unlikely to me that he can have that type of range in the NBA. Chandler’s offensive game seems limited outside of ten feet. I have seen him fire up some jump shots from the short elbow that barely touch the front of the rim. I never really liked the comparisons on nbadraft.net they seem to be more based on the physical appearance of the player, as opposed to skill. It just goes to show how dead on, or in this case far off some predictions can be.

If I had to make a scouting report for Chandler from what I have seen from him in the league up to this point the player that comes to mind first is Marcus Camby. Both are lengthy players who excel on defense, and can occasionally give you some offense. In his prime Chandler might be able to give you 13-15 points a night, but more importantly will be the rebounds and blocked shots he gets you. The most Camby has averaged, in terms of points, for one season, was 14.8 his rookie year with the Toronto Raptors. Chandler will have a career similar to that, at least I hope so.

LOL, RANGE? Way off on that one. Not sure on the rest because I don't know what kind of skills he had against high school players. Must of shown some though to be the #2 pick.

Boy were those guys way off, the closest NBA comparison I can see Chandler as is Marcus Camby. He does have range, though it is small, and with determination and practice he can extend that range.

This draft report was terrible....though some of it wasn't completely off.
