<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Chris Paul could become the state's most celebrated athlete, but the climb will be tough. This is a football state, after all. A state fiercely loyal to its college teams. A people totally enamored with gridiron stars. Barry Switzer, Lee Roy Selmon and Barry Sanders head the list of the most beloved sports figures. Jason White, Steve Owens and Billy Sims are right there, too. Can a basketball player from North Carolina bypass them? Not today. Not in the next few years. Provided the Hornets stick around, which seems likely, and they give Paul anything he wants, which seems smart, Paul just might take the top honors some day. </div> Source
Yeah most defenitly, Chris Paul is going to be an allstar one day. And shoot with the Saints slackin, why not?? lol. Well that was before Reggie Bush came around.lol
Well if they are talking about OK City then he's already off to a good start. I don't think they would have got the reception they did without Paul. I am sure they were glad to have a team come into their city but Paul is a spark plug and he just seemed to energize the city. If your talking about New Orleans. Well the City has two superstars to look behind. Adding Reggie Bush to the mix and Chris Paul who as already made a name for himself. They will have no problem looking up to him as their City Icon.
From the articles I have been reading lately online it seems more and more likely that the Hornets will remain in Oklahoma City, even after the 2006-07 season. Shinn loves the reaction the team got from the Oklahoma City fans last season, and does not feel as though the community of New Orleans will be ready to support an NBA franchise for a couple of years, as they rebuild. So “Do it all Paul” might not be able to win them over in the long run. If the team does move it’s an incredible tough break (sports wise) for the city. You are losing one of the most promising young players to come into the league in the last few years. Well at least you still got Reggie Bush...
