<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Press Release - Cavaliers' guard Larry Hughes' younger brother, Justin Hughes, passed away earlier today. Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry issued the following statement in relation to this. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Vanessa, Carrie, Larry and the entire Hughes family during this very difficult time. Justin Hughes touched all of us in a special way with his resilient life. Life sometimes helps put the proper perspective on basketball, and this is one of those occasions. Now is a time for Larry to be with his family as they deal with the loss of Justin. The timetable for Larry's return to the Cavaliers has not been determined. The Cavaliers would like to encourage donations to The Larry Hughes Family Foundation as they continue their support of donors and recipients of organ transplants."</div> Source
i`d like to know how he died also. I hope Larry comes back soon his team needs him, but then again i hope the team understands that family comes first. sorry to hear about it. Good Luck to the Hughes`s family
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheBlackMamba:</div><div class="quote_post">Didn't Larry's cousin or someone get shot last year and died? Sad news, my condolences.</div>Q Richardson lost a brother last year, I'm not sure about Hughes. I wish him the best, it's been a long year for him, and it just got worse.
Donations to the Larry Hughes Family Foundation? Are they kidding? Hughes gets over 10 million a year and they want donations? Sick
Read the whole thing they dont want donations for themselves they want donations for <u>"support of donors and recipients of organ transplants."</u>
I sure do hope that he gets back soon, even though he did lose a loved one. My prayers to the Hughes family, must be hard losing your younger brother.
I'm guessing that Larry Hughes' brother died because the heart transplant (if I remember correctly) he received ceased to function longer. I think his brother got the transplant when he was about ten or something like that. Very sad story indeed.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post"> My condolences go to the Hughes family.</div> This seems to be a tough year for Larry.
I know many don't know this, but when he was high school, Larry Hughes could have gone straight to the NBA, but opted to go to college so that his brother can get a transplant and live longer (or something along the lines of that..). Larry Hughes is one great guy. My condolences to him and his family.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chuck:</div><div class="quote_post">Donations to the Larry Hughes Family Foundation? Are they kidding? Hughes gets over 10 million a year and they want donations? Sick</div> You've got it twisted. First of all, it's not like he pockets the money. Secondly, don't you think that creating a charity allows them to collect much more than $10 million a year? Putting his name in the charity gets donations because of name recognition.

Also, while he was with Warriors, he showed a great love toward his brother, so it would be tough for him to come back and concentrate playing basketball against Detriot right away. Yeah. Larry Hughes is one great guy. My condolences to him and his family as well...
For people that don't know or it hasn't been posted alread he won't be playing tonight. Understandable.
Larry is devoted to his brother, and it is great that the Cavs are playing hard for Larry. His brother was his life, and it's a great tribute to him.
THey all are devoted. the team went to the funeral with hughes. i saw it on tv and i saw lebron, donyell, drew, and some other players but i couldnt recognize him.
