i was just thinkin about my fantasy bulls roster for next year and wanted yalls opinion ive posted this roster yesterday but i want to c how my roster compares to the suns.

if our guys play consistent every nite and play with heart and continue with our good defense would we be better than the suns with this roster? i think so
    reply and say y.

    heres my roster:

    Starters

    Kirk Hinrich 6'3 - C
    Corey Maggette 6'6
    Luol Deng 6'9
    Tyson Chandler 7'1
    Nene 6'11

    Bench

    Ben Gordon 6'3
Lamarcus Aldridge/Tyrus Thomas who ever we get
    Andres Nocioni 6'7
    Chris Duhon 6'1
    Antonio Davis 6'9 - C
    Malik Allen 6'10
    Darius Songaila 6'9

    Inactive

    Jay Williams 6'2

    VS

    Starters

    Steve Nash 6'3 - C
    Raja Bell 6'5
    Shawn Marion 6'7
    Kurt Thomas 6'9
    Amare Stoudemire 6'10

    Bench

    Leandro Barbosa 6'3
    James Jones 6'8
    Boris Diaw 6'8
    Eddie House 6'1
    Brian Grant 6'9 - C

Tim Thomas 6'10, Pat Burke 6'11, and Nikoloz Tskitishvili 7'0

    FACT

Both Amare and Nene are both coming off injurys so it might not be as good to judge them

Andres Nocioni did just wut Boris Diaw did to help there teams.

Antonio Davis is the exact type of player as Brian Grant

Steve Nash has good offensive talent playing with him so it makes his job easier. Kirk Hinrich's job will be as easier when all our guys play consistent and with heart every game.

Luol Deng is as athletic and is an all-around player now as Marion think about it when hes consistent every nite.

i want yall to think clearly about it.

why do u think the media wants us to trade our core? Its because when they get consistent which i have faith they will next season, this team will be hard to beat. the media didnt say we should trade for a superstar the 4 or 5 or so years after Micheal left when we were one on the worst teams in the league.
Why now when we can make it to the play-offs without a superstar we need to mess this team up.

if the bulls stop the fouling our team will be much better, a lot of the reasons why teams beat us is because they get 30-40 free throw attempts and they dont beat us by much most of the time with all those attempts.

corey maggette also gets to the free throw line a lot.

bulls play defense and suns dont

if bulls can slow down the suns from playing at a fast tempo they will beat them.

just a thought i know im for the bulls so it seems like im just making every comparision is to the bulls favor

    tell me wut u think.

I wouldn't necessarily think of the Phoenix Suns as a team we will/can be like in the future. Our philosophies seem to be very different. The Suns team loves to run, and out score opponents, but our team is more centered on defense, and out working opponents rather than beating them in a track meet. I agree partly with the Deng and Marion thing, they are both very athletic players who are versatile and can play several positions on the court. However, Marion is a couple levels above Deng in the defense department, not taking anything away from Deng who is not half bad himself. If he continues to work hard he might some day reach Shawn Marion level.

Kirk Hinrich is the most interesting player in this team to me, outside of Ben Gordon, Hinrich has drawn several comparisons to Steve Nash from the media. If Hinrich can continue to develop, and live up to these comparisons the sky is the limit. His defense is already superior to Nash?s, but he still has a long way to go. One problem I have with your roster is the Maggette deal. If we did acquire Maggette I don?t think Ben Gordon would remain a Bull. He wants to start, and has shown he is capable of starting and being the primary scoring option on the team. Some people call him one dimensional, a pure scorer and nothing more, and while I don?t completely disagree with that. I think he has improved his passing ability tremendously.

The Nocioni and Diaw comparison is kind of an iffy one. Although, it?s arguable that Andres is a better scorer/rebounder than Diaw. Diaw in my opinion is a better passer. So I don?t know about that one both are great at playing their games. Then the Nene and Amare thing, the only similarity they have is the knee injury that?s where it ends. Although, Nene has shown potential when healthy he is not in the same league as Amare.

To answer the original question you posed would we be better than the Suns if we continued to play defense, and those moves went down? I don?t think so, because as good as Hinrich is he is no Steve Nash. Also should Amare come back healthy he is way better than Nene, and the Suns have three bonafide all stars on their roster. Although, we might have three in the future, we cannot say that yet. I don?t know though no one can really predict how good Nocioni, Hinrich, Deng, and Gordon will be next season. Or how much getting Aldridge (yes Aldridge not Thomas[IMG] ) will affect our team. I?m optimistic just not ready to put us up there with the Suns (and a two time MVP) just yet.

thanx for replying im not that great of a basketball expert since ive only been following basketball since last year. lol

how do we know ben gordon wants to start? that was a rumor that a person in a message board made up, that was found to not be true. ben said he wants to stay in chicago his whole career, so i dont think ben would be traded. i feel getting corey maggette will make ben play better like he always does coming off the bench and now he knows that he has to play a lot better. i also want maggette because we dont need 2 rookies but someone with experience is good to have and we need to get taller.

i wasnt really comparing the suns as a team to compare with i was but mostly i was trying to prove a point. a lot of people keep saying we need to trade our core for a star and im tired of hearing that because i feel the suns roster was the easiest to show people how if we can develop consistency next year and play with heart, our guys can have a better record than the suns which means we should have over a record of 54-28. because if i used a team like detriot and tried to say our team was better people would not listen to me but laugh at the post. i even would laugh to lol. the bulls will develop consistency next season im tired of hearing the media say it will take 4-5 more years and letting that get into a lot of fans heads and having them think we need to trade our core because the media said so. the media didnt say that for lebron, wade, and melo would take 4-5 years when they entered into the league, so y cant they say that our players will at most develop consistency a year after they come into the league. i bet if one of our players went to another team they will say nothing about their consistency will take 4-5 years.

i want our bulls to play a style like the spurs or detroit because unlike every other team in the league they play defense and the correct way of basketball.

sorry if u were confused of that because i think the suns are over over-rated. i mean if you get the worst player in the league on that team he will wine up being one of the top players. for example, inconsistent tim thomas.

I remember a while back Ben Gordon being quoted in an article about believing he was a starter in the league, and probably a future all star. I?m not sure if that was his exact quote I will try to find it though I might be wrong. I like Corey he is a tough guy, but I think Gordon has the potential to be a much better player than Maggette in the future if we allow him to develop. Maggette improved his scoring for five years in a row, and had become a 20 points per game scorer, prior to this injury whittled season. Ben Gordon averaged 17 points this season, only his second in the league, if he is doing that at this point imagine when he hits his prime?

Oh, I thought you where trying to do a head-to-head comparison at first because of the player comparisons. I definitely agree with you that we have the core right now, that if they develop correctly could bring us a championship in the future. The media in Chicago, doesn?t seem to want to wait for a superstar to develop though, they want to have one now to feed them stories day in and day out. I think that?s one of the main reasons you hear so many trade rumors about superstars coming to Chicago, and why the Gordon/Skiles feud is blown so out of proportion.

Gordon had some memorable games this season to as a starter. The game winner in the Knicks game, the great playoff performances, etc. I see Maggette as more of a small forward than a shooting guard. He is a strong player who can work into the post, but I don't think his range is as good as Gordon?s given I don?t see many Clippers games.

Also about Thomas I remember that article, but at the same time like you said and everyone is aware of we need size/post scoring Aldridge will give us that while Thomas will excel more on defense than offense, similar to Chandler. I remember you saying in the past there is a chance Thomas might grow, like Deng did, but that?s not a given, and if he doesn't (big possibility) we have a severely undersized front court. To go along with an undersized back court. I think we might both be disappointed though I read an article yesterday that said it would be hard for the Bulls to pass up Bargnani at two if he is there.

yea thats true its not a given he will grow. im not sure on this one because last year i just watched bulls games without hearing the meadia talk. but did people complain that we were small last year because if not AD Tyson will most likely be back next season but for curry thats why i replaced with Nene or wutever free agent he chose they will most likely me 6'11 or over. Nene to me is a better player than curry.they are both 6'11 and tyrus thomas will replace othella harrington with his height. they are both 6'9. also the detroit pistons line-up is smaller than my fatasy roster ben wallace is only 6'9 at center and rasheed wallace at 6'11 and my roster was tyson chandler at 7'1 and Nene at 6'11 whose taller than both.

also ben gordon always plays well at New York coming off the bench his college games were played in the madison square garden so there is no reason he shouldnt do well no matter if he starts or not remember last year we were down by 9 in like under 2 minutes and we won the game he came from the bench. also ben gordons play-off games to me he did not do well as he should have to me he only impressed me in the first game he averaged the most minutes and still didnt average the most points on our roster.

I didn?t hear much complaining, because although we where undersized it did not hinder us defensively. I see what your saying about the Nene thing, and him giving us inside scoring, but he has had two injury whittled seasons in a row, and also the Nuggets will most likely keep him, because of the K-Mart situation. About the Piston thing although Ben Wallace is undersized he is extremely powerful, something Thomas is not, and has a really long wing span.

In the Heat series although he was not the leading scorer on our team he still averaged over twenty points, and improved his assist numbers as well. I was personally very impressed with him for the most part game two, and game six where the only ones I didn?t like. Some people even started referring to Hinrich, Gordon, and Nocioni as the axis of offense.

Jay Williams 6'2</div>The problem I have with that lineup is most of the guys you added (Nene, Boozer, even Jay Williams) have been injured for the last couple of seasons of their careers. So there is no telling how good they are at this point, or if there worth the money we are going to pay them if we acquire them. I would never trade a top three pick for any of the players you have added. I would much rather have Aldridge than any of those guys. If all those players stayed healthy that would be a pretty good lineup, but I don?t want to take that risk if I?m the Bulls.

Two new promising rookies > Injured overpaid veterans

Yep I like that roster except with Aldridge if he is there when we pick. Aldridge and Carney would be the best possible draft for us. I don't think he will be around at 16 though.

    i have another line-up for u Bestkept

    PG-Kirk Hinrich 6'3 - C/PG-Chris Duhon 6'1 - C
    SG-Ben Gordon 6'3/SG-Rodney Carney 6'7
    SF-Luol Deng 6'9/SF//PF-Andres Nocioni 6'7

    C-Nene 6'11/C-Nazr Mohammed 6'10 (vet)/C-Malik Allen 6'10 (vet)

    inactive Antonio Davis 6'9 - C (vet)

i like this line-up a lot better i now feel shelden williams is the guy we need instead of tyrus thomas.

shelden williams can rebound, block shots, has a post presence, played with luol deng and chris duhon, is a scott skiles type of player, and has had 4 years of college basketball experience.

I like this one a lot, my only thing is Andres should be infront of Deng. He is more aggresive and I feel thats what we need. Luol was very solid off the bench and he will get his chance to start eventually, but if you got Gordon starting we need some spark off the bench. And its good to see some good basketball talk on the Bulls forum, hopefully we can keep this up guys!
