Build a team around AI. But you can't just have an All Star team, or it takes the fun out of it. C- Shelden Williams(draft) PF-Kevin Garnett SF-Gerald Wallace SG-Allen Iverson PG- Brevin Knight 6th man: Andre Iguodala Shelden provides a big time defensive prescense in the post and can bang around and pull down boards. Garnett would help out immensely with his sheer versatility and athleticism and would be perfect along AI. In a lineup like this, Gerald Wallace would also help us out with his lockdown defense and scoring ability. You could even switch him up with AI9 if you wanted to. Allen Iverson- Duh. Knight is the type of player we are really in need of right now. His great passing ability and defense along with leadership would be great for the Sixers. Andre at 6th man would provide us with a defensive and scoring spark off the bench and can even start from time to time considering he's similar to Gerald.
i'd put people who don't need the ball, can defend and spot up and shoot, people who do the dirty work
PG- Shaun Livingston SG- Allen Iverson SF- Shane Battier PF- Shelden Williams C- Marcus Camby PG- Injury proneness aside, Livingston is a great fit for Iverson. He's tall, he's one of the best playmakers out there, he's got a great understanding of the game, and he's a pretty good defender. The only knock on him would be that he's not a great shooter, but that doesn't really matter since Snow wasn't a great shooter either and he took us pretty far. SG- Iverson would generally be needed to build a team around. SF- Rated by 82games, Battier is the best defensive player in the league. He can guard four positions, has a great attitude, hustles, and oh, he's a great shooter. Shooting the ball at .488 from the field as well as .394 from three, Battier definitely can get the pressure off of Iverson. Battier doesn't need the ball to be effective either, which is the key to building around Iverson. PF- Shelden Williams of Duke does all the right things. He's got a great hardworking attitude and is a tough kid who bangs down low with the best of them. Although he's measured at 6-9, Williams has a huge wingspan that allows him to play like he's 7-0. Not only that, Williams knows how to box out and in fact, does it really well which made him a great rebounder in college. He's a great defender but has a strong offensive game with an array of post up moves as well as a jumper out to fifteen feet. C- Marcus Camby. He almost had a career year this year up until he had that nasty finger (?) injury. However, aside from the injury problems, Camby is a perfect player for this team. He's one of the best defensive centers in the league (probably only second to Ben Wallace) and does everything on the defensive end from blocking shots, to steals, to rebounding. Offensively, he's solid and a lot of range on his shot. Although he's by no means an offensive phenom, unlike Dalembert, he'll actually be able to hold on to the ball when Iverson dumps it to him and will be able to convert. Team Strategy- The team is amazingly versatile; it can run the ball since everyone on the team is athletic and quick for their positions but also slow it down and play the grind it out game since all of them are great defenders (aside from Iverson). Plus, Iverson can revert back to the shooting guard role which is proven to be better for the team since he doesn't have to worry about creating for other people. On defense, him and Livingston can switch, which means the constant mismatch Iverson usually has when he plays shooting guard is gone.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Martin:</div><div class="quote_post">AI and Knight backcourt would get killed on defensive end of the floor.</div> Wallace can defend both SF/SG positions so that won't be a problem. And Knight is a decent defender bro... Nice team Aznx.
PG: Shaun Livingston- as aznx said he is the perfect pg for AI becuase he is such a solid defender SG: Iverson SF: Ron Artest- he'll bring this team great defensive help and he brings a second option after Iverson PF: Udonis Haslem- Doesn't need the ball to make things happen, he'll get all the defensive rebounds coming his way and he can hit shots from the baseline C: Ben Wallace- Ben's defense speaks for itself and he causes so many problems for people trying to drive through the lane. 6th man- Danny Granger
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Wallace can defend both SF/SG positions so that won't be a problem. And Knight is a decent defender bro... Nice team Aznx.</div> Thanks. I think when he says the backcourt will be killed, he means that they're both incredibly short (5-10 for Knight and 6-0 for Iverson) so they'll both have mismatches on the defensive end.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Martin:</div><div class="quote_post">AI and Knight backcourt would get killed on defensive end of the floor.</div> Knight is a pretty good defender actually. He averages over 2 SPG and his man to man defense is decent. If I was to build a team around AI (realistically), I would do it like this: PG - Devin Harris - Good defender, and very quick. Can get into the lane and draw contact. Can drop 20+ on any given night. SG - AI SF - Gerald Wallace - Great defender, hustles, very versatile. Scores, rebounds, passes, steals, blocks, anything you want from him. His contract is an absolute bargain too. PF - Udonis Haslem - He will defer to AI, hits the offensive glass, and is a good rebounder. C - Ben Wallace - Can change the game with his defense, exceptional rebounder, and plays 100%. 6th Man - Mike Miller - Adds a scoring punch off the bench. He can also pass and rebound.
PG- Andre Miller SG- Allen Iverson SF- Andre Iguodala(MUST BE MORE AGGRESSIVE AND MORE CONSISTENT WITH HIS OUTSIDE SHOT) PF- Shelden Willians C- Nazr Mohammed PG- Earl Watson SG- Mike Miller SF- Shane Battier PF- Donyell Marshall C- Steven Hunter SF- Edjuardo Najera/Kyle Korver SF- Reggie Evans Coach: <u>RICK CARLISE</u> Now that's a championship team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">PG- Shaun Livingston SG- Allen Iverson SF- Shane Battier PF- Shelden Williams C- Marcus Camby</div> We have a winner folks.
PG- AI SG- Trenton Hassell SF- Gerald Wallace PF- KG C- Marcus Camby This team would be phenomenal at defence as well as extremely athletic
