Mike James "I want to be a rocket again" source: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/3861692.html <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Houston is my first choice," James said. "Seriously, Houston is home. My wife is from Houston. We just bought our house in Houston. I want to go home." James can even argue he would be a good fit, believing his shooting range and ballhandling would be ideal to take defenders away from Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady and pressure off Alston. "I definitely could see myself on the court with Rafer," James said. "I think I could help him out a lot. And could you see me, Rafer, Juwan (Howard), Yao and Tracy on the court together? Teams could not double off anyone. </div> blah ***** you Mike James
How about a three-way trade? Rockets trade: Swift Rockets receive: Mike James Bucks trade: Magloire Bucks receive: Swift Raptors trade: Mike James Raptors receive: Magloire I dont know what is going to happen to our PG spot though, since IMO Jose is not ready yet to be a starter. How about we trade down, and get Marcus Williams. Or in this trade, we try to either get Maurice Williams from the bucks, or try to get Rocket's first round pick and use it to draft Marcus Williams, while using our pick to get someone else.
Why would houston want a guy that jacks up shots all the time? If Mike goes to Houston he would have to go back to his old ways, and unselfish PG thats going to distribute the ball to T-Mac and Yao. Hes gonna ask for a lot of money, and i dont think Houston will pay him enough for what he *THINKS* he deserves.
lol and he wants to be on the same team as Juwan Howard, who clearly whipped a ball at Mike James's face and made him look like a beotch
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">lol and he wants to be on the same team as Juwan Howard, who clearly whipped a ball at Mike James's face and made him look like a beotch</div> I was at that game! It was funny as hell. I think Mike james has in his head now that he deserves close to max and he is the best pg in the league. Hes gonna have a wake up call when he gets offers from other teams! Anyways he helped us a lot this year so i wish him well, but somewhere along the line hes gonna have to realize hes not an all-star, hes a role player on any good team.
Let him go, if he wants. I'd like to bring him back, but there's no way the Raps should get in a bidding war for him.
Rockets fan here.......I didn't like seeing Mike go in the first place....another scory is exactly what this team needs............bring Mike back.
I'd rather take Swift than Magloire IMO.. Swift has a small and long contract about 5 mill per and Magloire has a year left in his contract.. Yes he struggled in Houston but i believe he will flourish in Toronto with their system.
Foye>Mike James for Raps near future/core. If Mike James leaves, that leaves with filling the posistion through the draft or free agency. I was actually hoping that Mike James would make some sort of statement like this, because besides Roy, Foye is the best fit for the Raps in the draft.
Id actually prefer the Rockets to trade for Mike James (sign in trade) Mike James + toronto's pick for Swift and rockets pick That way toronto gets a good cahnce at getting marcus williams while rockets get a better chance at getting Adam Morrison or Rudy Gay
wth are we going to do with swift? He cant play C..and we really dont need another PF since we aldready have 2young promising players (CV and Bosh)
I never thought Mike James would want to stay in Toronto once he became a free agent. The Raptors should have gotten rid of him while they had the chance. He averaged 20 points, 6 assists, and shot 47% from the field and 44% from downtown. I'm sure Toronto could have gotten decent compensation for him.
I don't see why we would get upset over this. I don't think Mike James is a good fit for the raptors right now in anycase. If anything he just did us a favour because now we have an excuse not to re-sign the guy (if we have to justify the move to bosh). <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TmacGarnett:</div><div class="quote_post">Id actually prefer the Rockets to trade for Mike James (sign in trade) Mike James + toronto's pick for Swift and rockets pick That way toronto gets a good cahnce at getting marcus williams while rockets get a better chance at getting Adam Morrison or Rudy Gay</div> I really don't see the raptors picking up another PF. It's pretty much the one spot on our roster we don't need to worry about. I know Colangelo has a history of finding a solid guard to run his team's offense but i'd suspect that he's going to try and find someone proven in this department instead of drafting out of this years class. I think it's most likely that we'll shop our pick and try to find a guard through trades.
i think colangelo will wait until 2007 before landing an allstar calibre PG should give foye a chance if trading draft picks didn't come through mike james...he is just a solid player playing on awful team therefore he scored a bunch and looked like an "allstar" is he though? he never was, and never will be

Few players become an allstar in their early 30's for the first time. He was a decent scorer playing on a bad team. He is a terrible PG.

Someone that can run the floor and help out at the SF spot to take away from Mo Pete a little bit. I think Swift would most likely never fit in here. CB4 and CV31 are both here they dont need Stro to ruin it for them by taking away the playing time. Get Gay on this team and then Mike can leave.
I understand Swift's contract isn't as bad as Magloire's, but trust me (as a guy who watched him play) dude has no basketball IQ whatsoever.
