What you say is true, but I think that's a lot of what makes it funny for me. I think absurdity is a huge part of what humor is all about.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chuck:</div><div class="quote_post"><u>HAHAHAHAH, SOME OF YOU LIKE CARLOS MENCIA</u>

He steals jokes, from George Lopez, Jeff Foxworthy, Doug Stanhope, and others.

He is not Mexican. He is Honduran, and his name is Ned Holness.

He is not edgy, but he'll tell you three times that he is, before the joke, after the joke, and in the middle of the joke.</div>
I can't agree more. I remember one time seeing his standup on comedy central and saying to myself "I could of swore I heard that exact same joke on the blue collar comedy tour." You have to be pretty low when you're a fake mexican stealing jokes from un-funny, self-acknowledging white trash comedians. Not to mention his show Mind of Mencia seems like its got the same script as Chappelle Show with some mexican jokes added in and him screaming about how hes so edgy when hes probably one of the least controvertial comedians I've heard in a while. I can understand why people like him because his jokes are from good comedians who they've probably never heard but it pisses me off that he gets away with stealing peoples jokes and gets rich off of them.

I think Carlos Mencia is funny. He's definetely not one of my favorites though.

I like Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle(I like both his standup and his show-but standup better), and the puppet guy(don't know his name, but he is hilarious).

I've seen Gaffigan for about 5-10 mins in one of his standups and he was hilarious, but I haven't heard him enough to put him on my list.

    I also like Lewis Black.

No, I like humor based on lies as well I just think that Chappelle takes it too far.

A lot of people on here seem to hate Mencia, I guess I can see why. He does steal jokes, but you gotta give him credit for his form of delivery. Anyone can steal jokes, but no everyone can tell jokes. I don't think it's right what he does, but don't say that he's talentless. I actually went to his performance at the University of Washington this weekened. He tailored his jokes to college students, poked fun at the excess of Starbucks, and told original jokes.

Remedy, that's cool that you're getting into comedy. It's what I want to do with my life as a hobby on the side of my law career.

Try some of your stuff out on us. Like you said, a lot of comedy has to do with the delivery, so typing it on the internet might take the edge off, but I still want to hear what you've got...

Your right about Mencia's delivery. He's got a great style, that slightly makes up for his content.

Usually Chapelle's stories are pretty funny, just because of the absurdity. I also didn't like the hostage story. But if you keep going, in that act, he told a story about Native Indians that was just as absurd, but pretty funny.

Number one: Robert Gustavsson. He's a swedish comedian, but if he did his stuff in english, you'd all worship him.

After that comes the whole Monty Python crew. If you havn't seen them, you definetly should (you are likely to go to hell if you don't).

Then there is a lot of other great guys, I won't name them all but off the top of my head: Rik Mayall, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Chapelle.
