These days I don't really get scared by any movies, but I remember being spooked the first time I watched the Exorcist.

Arachnaphobia and Childsplay also stand out, because I was around 6 years old when I watched them. Now they're just funny.

Yea I remember getting scared by the Excorist...when she turned her head all the way around...that was creepy. I was like 9 years old. Another scary movie is Hostel. It's not a movie that will make you scream...but the torturing scenes are pretty creepy. Makes you wonder if sickos actually do that.

These days, I personally find gore movies like hostel and the saw series pretty fun movies to watch. Those movies make me cringe at some of the scenes. But one movie that scared me as a kid was the excorist (one scene that i distinctly remember was when the girl walks down the stairs upside down really quickly) and phantasm. Of course i watched those movies 8-9 years ago.

the excorist scared me to death. i was like 11 and we rented this one night and i was scared to death. also, the 6th sense isnt really that scary, but that one part when the mom was at the sink scared me as well.

PS: saw owns hostel, unless you like your movies to be half porno like BKS [IMG]

Saw was a better movie, but Hostel had the better torturing scenes.

Yea, the backwards spidercrawl down the stairs is like one of the freakiest scenes I've ever seen. It comes out of nowhere.

Now I'm beginning to remember some more movies. The Shining (those freakyass girls!), Pet Sematary, A Nightmare on Elm Street (the first one), Halloween (that piano music), The Omen (they might make a remake), and Rosemary's Baby.

    Nosferatu was truly scary.

I tend to find Japanese horror movies the scariest. Ju-On: The Grudge, and the Japanese version of The Ring freaked the f**k out of me.

The Grudge scared the **** out of me, I'm dead serious. I had surround sound on pretty loud at like midnight. Thunder storm outside, wind blowing hella hard, by myself. Everytime you saw that girl thing coming, the thunder would shake the house. Then at the very end when it was over my power went out [IMG] Then I had stairs like in the house of that movie, and I was walking up the stairs in pitch black with my parrot making the moaning sound [IMG]

I heard that movie was scarier and better than the American Grudge. I wanna see it, but just can't seem to get my hands on it yet. Isn't there also a Ju-On 2.

Yeah, I've seen that as well. There was supposedly a 3 that was out last year, but I haven't seen it.

As for where you can get it, try your local Asian mall or Chinatown. There are usually those selling pirated DVDs from Asia which have English subtitles.

Damn the Exocist was boring, but that scene with the stairs did scare me. The movie was going so slowly, I was all bored, and that happened so quickly. I get pretty scared watching horror movies. I believe Jeepers Creepers and Texas Chainsaw Massarce scared me the most.

Wolf Creek was a monumental disappointment. Just rented it the other day.

Anybody got a review of The Omen?

The exorcist never really scared me but scream gave me nightmares (when i was like 10) and 28 days later was dope. I thought that movie was so sweet and scary because it felt like it could really happen.

Madman Marz. Not really a mainstreamer, but a good movie.
