I don't know about you guys, but I really come to this forum to talk about the Lakers with FELLOW Laker fans. It seems like all our threads get flooded with people who do not like the Lakers and/or Kobe and take over all of our threads with their repeated bullshit. Does anyone else feel this way? I mean, I swear, sometimes I feel like we should all stop posting in the general Lakers forum and just talk amongst ourselves in the Skybox. I know it sounds stupid, but it gets really tiring having to back up your team or star player, I think we're the only forum that has to put up with that mess. Rarely do non-Laker fans come in to our threads and shed some light or have intelligent discussions/arguments. It seems like they thrive on our losses and rub it in and come after us like we ****** their girlfriend or something, I don't understand. Just wondering if I'm the only one that feels like this, and I know it's a little to late to even bring this up since our damn season is over, but it was just on my mind.
Your right about others walking in and screwing up really intelligent threads. It bugs me sometimes too. You just need to realize thats the nature of the team that we've all grown to love so much. The LAKERS just attract drama, haters, and critics. We are hollywoods team!!! I've understood that since day one. Hate me or love me, its one way or the other.
I'm sure we all feel the same way at times. My approach is this, I try to educate people and give them a different point of view when they criticize things or repeat something the media wrote just to slam Kobe of the Lakers for no reason. For example, when Barkley said Kobe missing 15 shots in Game 6 is why the Lakers lost, because the Suns scored 30 points from that. I watched the game, I knew for sure the Suns didn't score everytime down, so I went back and did the research on it. I also know some articles is going to attract a lot of retarded comments so I keep them in the Skybox.
I can't stand it either, but when your team has massive success in recent history and years before it people will tend to hate your team and the player who has daggered their team's hearts all those years.
YourNewChef is right! since the Laker is the most successful franchise in the NBA, there are going to be a lot of haters. But that hate comes from the respect, just think of it that way. Would you want our Lakers forum to be boring like the other forums without any interactive until some huge news happens to their team? Just put it this way, love the hater. Without the hater, we wouldn't be this good. I mean we strive to be the best because of the criticism. Whatever they say, it's their opinion and we have our own. I understand your concern though but don't let other non-Lakers fan get into your head.
the reason why i love to talk about laker basetball with laker fans is because we can all relate with each other and we can all understand how we feel after a loss / win. but it is always nice to talk with other people as well because you get to see how the "others" feel and what their opinions are
Good lookin' out Shape. THanks for everyone's replies, I have to agree and say you guys are right, we'll just have to deal with it. I think the key is not to get mad, but just come back at them with something intelligent, then they would probably back off.
If you come back with something intelligent instead of just firing back at them, you make them look really sad. I love it when that happens! haha
