<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One of the Utah Jazz's biggest needs for next season seems to be at shooting guard, and the team is getting after that right away as it works out its first three prospects today at the Zion's Bank Basketball Center in preparation for the 2006 NBA Draft.

College seniors Maurice Ager of Michigan State, Hassan Adams of Arizona and James White of Cincinnati, all athletic swing-style players, will display their wares for Jazz brass this morning as it gears up for the June 28 draft.

A fourth player had been invited but is injured, said Jazz senior vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor. He said it's of little significance that the first three invitees are swingmen, adding the Jazz also have few centers on their current roster.

Because those three players are seniors, they could be scheduled for workouts earlier than underclassmen, who had to go through a declaration process.

O'Connor said the Jazz usually bring in players of similar size and position for workouts so they all can go through the same drills.

The Jazz will have probably four players in for another workout on Thursday, and O'Connor said some of those will be point guards.

All three of the players working out today for Utah are projected by most mock drafts to be taken lower than the Jazz's first-round pick, likely No. 14.

    "Projections are funny," O'Connor said.

The Jazz also have the 46th and 47th picks of the draft.

Ager is generally the highest of the three on most mock drafts, showing up mostly in the second half of the first round, while Adams and White mostly are projected as second-rounders.</div>

I heard Mardy Collins worked out with these guys, I wonder how he did. I can't wait to read about what Sloan thought about it.
