Every single time i watch a game on here, I can NEVER hear the announcers! The crowd volume on this channel is so loud, it tunes out the announcers and its really annoying. I dont know if you guys have had this problem but it is really starting to bug me. I mean cant they turn it down or somethign?

You probably have bad hearing or your TV is wack because i hear things perfectly clear.

TNT is the best one, :/

They did have some technical difficulties all night long. I really can't stand Doug Collins commentary though.

It's still better than Billy Walton. God he drives me nuts. The thing I hate about TNT is when they do a picture in picture type thing in order to relay about 4 points of statistical information. So you lose about 60% of your TV to a boring blue background and a brief comparison of two guy's free-throw averages or something dumb. Sometimes they just do the small on-screen one that builds leftward from the score graphic, but not always.

Oh and the huge on-screen ads (with sound sometimes!!!) that pop up have GOT TO GO. Lots of networks do this now. I've had it interfere with a movie/show/whatever to the point where I missed an important plot element. And if you're watching something with subtitles or closed captioning, you're screwed.

He gives good information and analysis. What don't you like?

He harps on one point too much and over exaggerates. Then he completely flip flops his opinion.

I also can't stand the dyed blonde hair.

Barkley kind of touched on it in the post game comment saying Doug Collins is talking about that play too much. (Tim Thomas not calling timeout.)

I think Hubie Brown is the best in the business at game analysis. Sean Elliot is also very good a breaking down a game, I'd like to see him broadcast an entire game.

The problem is voice/dialogue is typically sent over the center channel. So if you only have a 2 channel stereo setup, you're only getting the peripheral dialogue signals, which are much lower. If you have a multi-channel setup, make sure your center channel is a) connected [IMG] being used by the receiver. You may even want to boost the output of the center channel through your receiver. If all you're using is your tv speakers you're a bit out of luck, though you may want to check your tv's manual, there may be an option for dialogue boost.

Otherwise, even a semi-decent home theatre in a box (ie, comes with reciever and usually 5.1 speaker setup) will be leaps and bounds better than your tv's speakers. If you notice a problem hearing dialgoue in action movies as well, like it gets overpowered by the background noise (explosions, gunfire, whatever is going on in the movie).. it's the same issue with not having a proper center channel.

Is this for the HD or standard-def TNT broadcast?

Shouldn't matter, HD is a video standard, not audio.

That's probably because you're actually getting 5 channels of sound and your tv's receiver is mixing it into stereo. If you have digital cable that has multi-channel sound, you should pony up the cash and get a decent home theatre setup. Audio is key. In fact I'd rather have a 27" tv and a fully balanced 7.1 audio setup than a big screen tv and use it's built in speakers.

I agree with all this. The hair is ridiculous, I never knew that there was such a thing as a late-life crisis [IMG] . Collins tries to share his knowledge too much. For hardcore NBA fans he just ends up sharing tidbits of information that we already know. You'll also find that he likes to say things like; "Back when I coached Michael Jordan......"

I don't have a problem with TNT's coverage. I've noticed that on ALL stations they have started cutting the sound whenever a player's cussing is within range of the speakers. They don't want that stuff on tv anymore. Back in the day you would hear a loud "F***!!!" everyone once in a while. Thanks to Janet Jackson they delay the games now.

Yea this seems to be your set up, although during Tuesdays Nets-Heats game the audio was having problems which were annoying but went back to charles and kenny... in my opinion tnt has the best half time show.
