You gotta watch the Spurs game more on NBA Pass, or unless, you live in that region. But he does all the Spurs games I believe. Kinda like Stu for the Lakers...

    From HDTV Faq:

    Benefit: Digital Sound
Just as your CDs sound better than your old audiocassette tapes, HDTV's digital audio signal sounds better than standard television's analog sound. Also, some HDTV programs include Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. Properly decoded, each audio track can be sent to a different speaker, creating a three-dimensional sound field in your living room. Many of ABC's prime time programs contain Dolby Digital surround sound for your listening pleasure. </div>

Yeah, they often bundle so-called digital sound. But that can come across your cable line anyway. The signal is de-coded and processed by your reciever. Whether it comes on the HD signal or not is irrelevant. It's the same exact format and encoding, ie dolby surround or whatever. Though sports often are broadcast in stereo, sometimes still in mono for broadcast tv. Digital cable, satellite and hdtv carriers are almost always going to be the digital signal for audio, which is where the 5.1+ will come in. But it's not unique to HD itself.

    OK, thanks for the info.

But I do recall that the audio for TNT HD is different than the standard version.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Finess:</div><div class="quote_post">You probably have bad hearing or your TV is wack because i hear things perfectly clear.

TNT is the best one, :/</div>

Then something might also be wrong with my 72 inch Samsung plasma. I really do hope they fix their technical crap so we can hear Marv Albert, the best commentator in the NBA.

Even high end tv's don't have very good audio components. If you have a 72" plasma you better pony up for a home theatre audio system, otherwise it's a bit of a waste. Your problem now is that you have no center channel so it's mixing it (poorly) into stereo.

It was clear last night that whoever was producing the TNT broadcast of the Dallas-San Antonio game is not a fan of basketball, the best game I've seen all year, at the end of the 4th quarter, reduced the screen size to show the Suns and Clippers in the freakin first quarter!
