<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AMS_ice:</div><div class="quote_post">What is said about Jefferson is true, in time he is the realistic choice to replace Kidd and not Vince. Jefferson has the ability to get better. The Nets can build around him. I just don't think Carter is leader material, yes he can score (obviously), but he is not a franchise player. If the Nets can get a power forward and keep Vince, that would be great, we can't take away the fact that he is a great scorer who can create his own shots. Let's just hope that Kidd and Jefferson stays healthy, maybe the early exit is a blessing in disguise... Kidd can fully recover from his surgery and be 100% next season. Let's cross our fingers that we can get a 4 (KG?), imagine this.... [IMG]

    C - Krstic
    PF - Garnett
    SF - Carter
    G - Jefferson
    G - Kidd</div>

Don't hold your breath, that lineup is impossible. Best case scenario would be SOMEHOW getting K-Mart with our MLE. To get KG, we would have to trade at the very least one of the big 3 + a few picks and players.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I know about that, but I think that you can only trade the guys AFTER they've been drafted, not the picks...correct me if I'm wrong, though. I mean, like the Suns drafted Nate Robinson and THEN traded his draft rights to the Knicks. They didn't just trade their pick to them. but i may be wrong.</div>

You select and then trade the draft rights. Ie, Devin Harris for Antawn Jamison, Loul Deng for future 1st + cash. So, either way we can still trade our picks to swing KG.

Jeff McInnis, who likely will keep his option of $3.6 million for next season, is expected to be either bought out, waived or traded.

Jacque Vaughn, who could be re-signed, and Lamond Murray are free agents</div>

yea, i thought so...anyway, we can give them a future pick in 07 or 08 if they don't like this year's draft.

The Nets are a better team when Kidd and Jefferson are getting atleast 20 a game. If they can get KG for Carter and those 3 share the load on offense they've got the foundation for a title contender.

The Nets definitely need something that will get them over the hump. Right now they are better than most teams in the Eastern Conference, but not good enough to be the best in the Eastern Conference.
