Lakers (110) 597 Guard Steve Nash, Phoenix (106) 583 Congrats to Kobe for making it back to the 1st Team.
Congratz Kobe, you deserve it very much. Go and have some chicken and a beer !;D It was a sick regular season, sick. 81, 62 in 3 quarters and four 50+ point games ? And: Getting the Lakers to the postseason.
Yao = Center for First team.....Yao >> Shaq at this point in his career.....and I'm not even being biased when saying this.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao = Center for First team.....Yao >> Shaq at this point in his career.....and I'm not even being biased when saying this.</div> I'd put Yao on the 1st Team, but he was injured for quite a few games. I think Ben Wallace should have been the 1st Team center by default. Maybe you could even make a case for Pau Gasol, he played quite a bit at center this season.
Hey Kobe got the most votes I think that will be the first and last for him ever. I still think Shaq is better than Yao. Maybe I'm just biased but Yao just doesn't seem to bring any toughness. I like centers with emotion and Yao just seems lacksidasical.

Yao was the antithesis of lackidasical this year.....yes he was injured for part of the seaons, but so was Shaq
Wade, slated for U.S. team duties this summer, indicated to Payton he wants to become a dominant defender and plans to work out individually with Kobe Bryant, Payton said. ''Right now, he doesn't understand how [to be a dominant defender] because of his'' offensive responsibilities, Payton noted. does this mean kobe is gonna train with Dwade this summer?
I have to agree, Yao is having a much better year than Shaq so he should be the starting center. I guess injuries play a role.

This would make DWade a lot better because Kobe has the best work ethic in the league. Any parts of Kobe's game that rub off on Flash would be great.
just a thought: kobe is the only player this season in the all nba 1st team, and the all defensive 1st team
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brian:</div><div class="quote_post">just a thought: kobe is the only player this season in the all nba 1st team, and the all defensive 1st team</div> Thats right. Our MVP.
Congrats to Kobe, one of the greatest players to ever grace the hardwood, he deserves 1st team and in my opinion deserves MVP...he averaged the most points in a season that the nba has seen in awhile, he scored an incredible 81 in one game and wouldve beat it if he played the fourth quarter against dallas, he almost led an underdog laker team to the second round against the heavly favored suns and the league MVP in Steve Nash(no disrespect)...Kobe is MVP...and shaq is still a better center than yao.

Even though I agree that Kobe should've been MVP, you're naming all the wrong reasons. -This year the Lakers finished 45-37, compared to 34-48 last year. We increased our win total by 11 with virtually the same roster. Why? Kobe matured into more of a leader. He knew when to turn it on and when to pass it up. He also got Lamar, Kwame, Mihm, Walton, and sometimes Smush motivated to give it their all, especially towards the end of the season. -He had a career year. Not even scoring, he just had one hell of a season. 1st Team ALL NBA and 1st Team ALL Defense. He was a vocal leader for us all year long. -He got us the 7th seed, when 75% of the AP stated we would miss the playoffs, again. He almost had us the 6th seed. -He had incredible individual games scoring 62 in 3 quarters and 81 in a game. He broke numerous playoff records and shredded defenses all year long. -In the playoffs, he had PHX against the wall 3-1 because he changed his style of play to be the initiator. He passed first, rebounded and scored. He out thought the eventual MVP, Nash. He outplayed him, as well.
