How many more records must this guy break to get a lil respect in the playoffs?

I don't think I've heard anything basketball related other than Lebron beating the Pistons since last night. He's always gotten a lot of respect. I think the only way Lebron gets even more respect is if everything in the world shutting down to watch Lebron. The whole playoffs have been one big Lebron lovefest. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the hype, because he's been amazing, but to say he doesn't get any respect is just flat out dumb.

Quoting Lostmyluggage:

To do that in todays league as good as the D is? Unless you are LeBron James himself trying to get more respect, stop it.
Defense is stressed just as much as it was in the 90's, but the new defensive restrictions and offensive leniency has made for a tough adjustment. Traveling and moving pick calls are non-existent, and no one ever calls travels any more. The league got what they wanted (fast-paced, high-offense basketball) but the officiating needs to be clear cut. Once officiating is consistent to the new rules, and when Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Howard, etc. reach their primes, we'll start seeing some sensational basketball.
actually with regardes to the claim that they never call traveling anymore, i think they have been calling it a good bit more lately. in the mavs/spurs game the other day i think they called it 5-6 times total in the game, which is a whole lot. The last time i remember a prominent traveling non-call though was an episode with the topic player... I think the defense "not being as tough" as it used to be is a partial truth. It might be fundamentally true with the players, but its certainly true that the league is more long/athletic now than 20 years ago and the zone rules are in effect to hide the worse defenders, effectively making defense tougher. I think its a tossup.
Its not even a toss up. The D is much better nowadays, especially the pistons'. There are zones which give you way more options on D, and for LeBron to be doing what hes doing, already speaks for itself. He is already getting huge respect, and deserves it.
The only thing better about the D these days is athelticism. Perimiter players get free passes to the paint on every play. It then comes down to having a game going to the basket. LBJ is probably the best in the NBA with that, but todays defenses are in his favor. It's a nice accomplishment, but that's all it is. Nice.
I'm not talking about the media's respect for James, I'm talking about the comments I see in these forums. Sorry about the clarification error. I look in the other forums and all I see is weak commentary on how the Cavs beating the Pistons are a fluke. People saying that LeBron is less than wade and kobe, and all that other bs. Give the guy the respect he deserves. He can do what he wants when he wants, and when you have a player like that on the team stepping up in the playoffs suddently the will to win is raised by all the other players. I'm trying to help people out by preparing them for the inevitable victory of the Cavs. I don't want people to be all surprised with looks of awe on their faces. I know I won't be. I'm a realist. The NBA is a professonal organization and the Cavs have the best professional in the league. Other team supporters make it sound as if cavs fans are full of themselves and building up the team better than it really is by saying how good they are. I'll I'm trying to do is help people do is discern fact from opinion. Now the only question that remains is which James jersey am I going to sport at the game tonight for the victory celebration.
People don't like Lebron because of <font color=""Red"">************. D is not as good these days, because the perimeter players have such an advantage with handchecks always being called. If the Cavs do end up beating the Pistons, then I'd say congratulations, and I'd look forward to another ******. BTW, its the Cavs who have been beating the Pistons, not Mr. 13-30 Lebron. <font color=""red"">*** Please respect our guidelines about personal attacks - Voodoo Child
Your talking trash about LeBron? Are you trying to make us laugh? LeBron will go down in history as the player to take the most foul shots, and make the most foul shots, ever. Why do you think this is?

I know that LeBron is a great player. We know that. You don't need to try and brainwash. Kobe has a lot of haters here as well because some of the fans worship him and try to evangelize to others into worshipping him too. I love Wade but I don't think he's the best player. I pray that he will be one some time in his career, and he's no doubt top 5 in the league right now but as a fan, I'm not going to show cockiness like you.
Sorry about that, VC, I got a little carried away. It just annoys me when this guy, like Wade Dynasty says, tries to impose Lebron on other people, and holds the guy on a pedestal. All of us here are fans of some player, but 99% of us don't have to continually make threads to glorify our favourite player.

As for Dream, where in this thread have I bashed Lebron? I'm saying that some of his over-the-top fans turn people off of him. Lebron has not had a great series, and it's time people give more credit to his teammates.

Sorry to spoil that rout you were hoping for though.
