It's clear to see that the referees have something against the Ravens. First it was the constant bullying in the Lions-Ravens game and now they "inadvertantly" blew the whistle on the touchdown fumble return by Will Demps. I know the didn't see that at first but they should have a rule to re-evaluate the call. This goes the same for challenging plays. The old rules says that the play is dead when the whistle is blown and cannot be challenged but reviewed by the officials if they want to or something like that. After that play, the Ravens just lost all momentum and just went 3 and out and had to punt.

Here's a picture of what Brian thought:

It's safe to say that the Ravens are no longer Wild Card contenders being 4th in the AFC North, unless we completely go 8-0 the rest of the season which is virtually impossible because of how our offense is playing. We will be focusing on the reason why we never got to the red zone. Anthony has shown to be an okay back up but at times, I wished Kyle was here, NOT THE ROOKIE KYLE ORTON, but Kyle Boller. Please don't quote that line.

So I'll say Congrats to the Bengals and by the offseason, you may see me wearing either the Steelers or Bengals avatar. And I'm hoping we may get a good pick in the draft.

Easy, Burleson! I think the forum members in the AFC North made an avatar bet where the losers will be wearing the winner's avatar. I think there's a similar bet among most of the NFC North forum members.

I have never seen worse officiating than some of the Ravens games this year. The league has to mandate some rule change so that a potentially game-changing fumble, recovered for a touchdown, can't be completely negated because a ref admittedly blew his whistle by accident. For the most part, the Ravens have to rely on that kind of defensive play to put themselves in a position to win a game. They should forcibly place that referee's whistle in his rectum, so that he will think twice before prematurely retrieving it and calling a game-changing play dead.

The long pass to Chad Johnson that set up the 3-yard TD pass would have easily been called offensive pass interference in any NFL game. Especially if it would have been a play that didn't involve a notorious Chris McAlister against the league's new aparent golden-boy.

But that's just nit picking. Some games this season have felt like we are playing against two teams... One of them wears black and white, and the Raiders are NOT on our schedule this year.

So I can't connect a terrible call that takes away 7 points, and immesurable momentum with the fact that we lost?

So many games in this league are decided by one or two key plays. If a ref blows a call on one of them, it hurts a team in ways that don't show up on a box score. If that play stands, the Ravens can tie the game, and they are then fired up to play with some heart for the rest of the game.

Instead we get a 3 and out.

If no whistle was blown, but Will Demps had accidently stepped out of bounds after picking up the fumble, killing the play, I would be allowed to blame our loss partly on that play. So if a referee makes a similar bonehead move, giving us the same result, I should be allowed to attribute at least part of that loss to them.

If one or two plays is enough to turn around game, the other 80 plays would allow a better team to make up for a couple bad calls.
