<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It is serious business directed by Bill Duffy, the California-based agent that Rondo and Dean share. Doug Bibby, Rondo's coach at Eastern High School, said Rajon has been living in Chicago since April 5, the day after he announced he was walking away from his final two years at the University of Kentucky. Dean, who completed his U of L career, joined him three weeks ago. There is a reason their daily regimen reads like something Michael Jordan created. That's what it is. Dean and Rondo are working with Tim Grover, the guy who trained Jordan, Dwyane Wade and dozens of other NBA players. Duffy sent them to Grover. He hired a nutrionist to prepare their meals. The nutrionist put Dean on a diet of organic foods and whole grains. Dean says that has eliminated the cramping problems that troubled him at U of L. Duffy is booking their pre-draft workouts. Rondo played against Villanova guard Randy Foye in Houston last Friday and for Phoenix on Sunday. Dean practiced against Daniel Horton of Michigan and Maurice Ager of Michigan State for Cleveland last week. He has workouts scheduled with Philadelphia and the Knicks this week. Beating the doubters Rondo and Dean discuss the things the skeptics are saying. Legitimate questions about Rondo's ability to shoot -- 27 percent from the three-point line, 57 percent on free throws -- have him tumbling to the bottom of the first round in some mock drafts. Dean has a jumper. He doesn't have a position -- too small to play shooting guard, not the ball-handler to play point guard. "The word is I'm sliding out of the draft," Dean said. "I actually laugh at it." Duffy said it is premature to study mock drafts. Teams don't solidify their opinions until the individual workouts and pre-draft camps are completed. He's sending Dean to play exclusively at point guard at the NBA pre-draft camp in Orlando, Fla., beginning June 6. "Rajon and Marcus Williams (of Connecticut) are the two best point guards in the draft," Duffy said. "People question Rajon's shooting, but they questioned the shooting of Tony Parker and others before they came into the league. Rajon does so many other things you can't teach. "Taquan is a tweener. But he's one of the best shooters in the draft. He'll make a lot of money playing basketball before his career is over." But today Rondo and Dean are waiting for their pro careers to begin, a UK guy and a U of L guy sharing a condo in downtown Chicago. </div> Source
Good Find.I hope personally that Taqaun and Rajon gte drafted in the first round and do well in theor basketball careers.they were 2 of my fav PG in college basketball last season. And about Taqauan falling out the draft is crazy,if he does that would be crazy,he is too good of a player to not be drafted.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of mock's with Dean not getting drafted so he has to do well in the camps, etc.
Rondo's numbers make skeptics seem right about his J but thats eomthing that can be fixed. Like Duffy said he does a gagillion other things you cant fix or teach.
i dont know why but i love rondo's game. He plays solid D and is an athletic freak at the pg. He has size and i think his jumper will come around. Plus in some systems u want a pg to be a distributer not a shooter.
Marcus Williams is not that good definately not top two inthis year's draft as far as PG goes. He's a product of talent around him heck a regular guy with some dribbling ability off the local rec center would prob be a lottery pick if he had the same talent around him. Williams choked in the tournament to a virtual unknown... george mason. He remids me of Mateen Cleaves without the leadership or chracter. Cleaves if you remember drew comparisons to Magic...laughable. He was in the same situation though he had a really good spartan team around him (including J rich) and made him look Magicesque. Dee Brown, Kyle Lowry, Rajon Rondo and Jordan Farmar are better playmakers and scorers than Williams probably wont get drafted ahead of the guy but thats good for us Laker fans since one of the guys I mentioned above will slip right to us... yeah I know I sound like a hater and I kinda am. i dont know marcus williams but from what ive seen I dont like the guy... I wouldnt want a guy like Williams on my team if you see his behavior on the bench and his off the court history (stealing laptops?) youd question the guy too if he's the face of your program and disgraces you like that... he is arrogant, his apology to coach Calhoun was not genuine at all despite those tears... too convenient, with all that said however bottomline: he is not as talented as some "experts"/pundits may have you believe. Billi Duffy is a moron looking to raise his clients' draft stock... cheap attempt.
