Marcus Williams, Kyle Lowry, Jordan Farmar, I don't even know. I just know you need to take a point guard. Hopefully your upper management puts you in a position to get one.
Hopefully they get a pg who can step and play quality minutes. You guys really should have drafted chris paul last year.
I'm not sure why everyone thinks PG is our biggest need. I mean, yes it would be nice, but we were a pretty decent offensive team without one, so i dont get why that should be our top priority. what we really need is a good big man that plays good defense. we were 2nd worst in the league (behind the sonics) in interior defense. a big man who locks down, like ty thomas, aldridge, simmons, or Williams, would be HUGE for us.
The reason that stat is there was because we used Harrington, Smith, and others that aren't Power Forwards there. I say get a nice solid big man with the 5th pick (Thomas, Aldrige!) and I would be happy. Then we go for the nice Point Guard at the 35th pick.
Patrick O'Bryant could be an option as well at center. He's got great upside and potential...and scouts are starting to rave about him. I could possibly see him being chosen in the top 5 and the Hawks seem like a nice fit... But if you want a player that is going to make an immediate impact, then Marcus Williams is your man. He led the nation in assists with 8.6 per game this past season, but he averaged 3.7 turnovers a game, so controlling the tempo is something he must improve on if he wants to play PG at the next level.
See the thing is though, what does Knight want? Does he want a Point Guard to control the tempo of our games and make sure we score, even though we have Joe Johnson who can run the Point. Or does Knight want to go for a Power Forward that will help on defense and get rebounds? I guess we will not know until the draft. Tyrus Thomas, and LaMarcus Aldrige will probably be gone TFP but see the thing is if they are both picked then that leaves us at least Morrison, Gay, Andrea Bargoni, or trade the pick.
i dont know why i c randy foye being on yalls team he just seems like an atlanta hawks guy and no its not because thats wut it says on nbadraft.net lol their predictions and comparisions are usually wrong.
The Hawks need a PG like toast needs butter. If it could be explained any simpler than that, feel free to do so. We should've drafted Chris Paul last year. That will forever be etched in Hawks fan's heads. I am sure the same can be said for Chris Paul every time he plays the Hawks or any other team that didn't draft him. It's time we drafted small first, and big later. We've got way too many big guys to even think about starting the draft at any other position than PG. Who knows, drafting the opposite of what they have been doing in recent years might just pay off, we get a great PG and a diamond in the rough C or F. Chris Paul. Damn.
I hope you take Marcus Williams so the stock of other better PG's falls and thus enabling the Lakers to draft him
